Po122code tps sensor A circuit low input

A P0122 code means that the the car's computer has detected that the TPS (throttle position sensor) is reporting too low a voltage. On some vehicles that lower limit is 0.17 - 0.20 volts (V).

Did you adjust it when you installed it? If the signal value is less than .17V then the PCM sets this code. Could be an open or a short to ground in the signal circuit. Or you may have lost the 5Volt reference voltage.

Symptoms may include:
- Rough or low idle
- Stalling
- Surging
- No/little acceleration, other symptoms may also be present

A code P0122 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
- TPS not mounted securely
- TPS circuit short to ground or another wire
- Faulty TPS
- Damaged computer (PCM)

Some recommended troubleshooting and repair steps are:
- Carefully check the throttle position sensor (TPS), wiring connector, and wiring for breaks, etc. Repair or replace as necessary
- Check the voltage at the TPS (refer to a service manual for your vehicle for specific information). If the voltage is too low that is indicative of a problem. Replace if necessary.
- If recently replaced the TPS may need to be adjusted. On some vehicles the installation instructions call for the TPS to be properly aligned or adjusted, consult a repair manual for specifics.
- If there are no symptoms at all, the problem may be intermittent and clearing the code may resolve the issue temporarily. If this is the case then you should definitely check the wiring to be sure it's not rubbing on anything, grounding, etc. The code may come back.

You've probably got a broken wire, or a bad connection at the plug. Un plug the TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) and take a close look at the spade terminals inside the plug. Look for signs of corrosion or loose terminals. If you're careful you can use a very small pick to bent the tabs out a bit (for a tighter connection) or scratch off the surface of them if corrosion is present.

If all this looks good then you'll need to use a voltmeter. First you need to make sure you have proper tps adjustment. Touch one lead to #1 terminal on the TPS connector (looking at the connector with the locking tab on top, it will be on the left) and touch the other to a good ground source (battery negative post, for example) On 10 or 20v DC scale, loosen the TPS mounting screws and turn the sensor until you get a value of 0.50 volts.

If this is good, touch one end to terminal #3 of the TPS connector (this will be on the right side) and touch the other end to a good ground source. You should get between 4.5v and 5.5v. If you don't you'll need to trace the wire back looking for a break somewhere.

If this is good put the voltmeter on OHMS (resistance) and touch one lead to terminal #2 (center) and the other to a good ground... you should have less than 10 ohms of resistance.

If this is good you've either got a broken wire going from the computer to terminal #1 (left), or a bad computer.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Thank you for using FixYa, have a nice day.

Hello www_ropesmor,

This code P0123 is Throttle position sensor circuit high input.

There four basic reasons for this code.

1. An open or short to ground between the TPS (throttle position sensor) and the ECM (Engine control module).
2. A short to battery voltage between TPS and the ECM.
3. A short between the TPS wires.
4. A faulty TPS.

See below for connector diagrams.

First, with scan tool monitor TPS with throttle closed voltage should be
I f you don't have a scan tool, back probe terminal 1with a volt meter to ground and you will see the voltage as outlined above otherwise follow the steps below.

1.Check to see if there is about 5 volts at the TPS; with engine off key on disconnect the TPS back probe the harness side terminal 3 to ground with a volt meter if there is about 5 volts go to step 2 if about 5 volts if not repair the 5 volt circuit.

2. Probe the harness side terminal 2 to chassis ground with a volt meter, if voltage above .02 repair circuit 2 short to voltage. If voltage is .02 volts or below go to step 3.

3. Probe the harness side terminal 1 to ground with volt meter if below .5 volts go to step 4 if not repair short to battery between TSP harness and ECM connector

4 Turn the ignition off and disconnect the ECM connector . With an ohm meter measure the resistance between the ECM (terminal C18) and TPS ground circuit it should be below 1 ohm. Measure the resistance between the ECM (terminal C8) and TPS signal circuit it should be below 1 ohm. If not repair the open circuit.

After faulty circuit is found and repaired clear code and verify repair.

Is there a way to temporarily disable the scroll function of the touch-pad?

Hello and Welcome to FixYa!

Usually a notebok had a lock scroll button right above the touch pad, but the Eee series is a Netbook series so not this case, so we can turn it off with the help of windows settings.

Eee series is loaded with the Linux OS by defualt if you have a Linux based system then;

Nevigate to your Control Panel from Start button then select mouse, click on Touch Pad. There you can see all the settings regarding the Pad, Turning it off as well.

If above is not the case, i.e; you are having a Linux OS then;

Goto Settings, nevigate to Touchpad and Set Touchpad as "disable".

I hope this will help you out. Even if you are having issues, questions, queries regarding your problem, do contact me.

F250 Diesel will not start cold . Has power to glow plugs for short time ,but will not start 1986 modle.

Hello philkatkiele: My name is Roger and I will help you. First thing you need to check is the glow plugs. They will need tested individually. Un plug all 8 glow plugs. Take a test light and hook end to the positive battery cable. Touch opposite end of test light to the terminal end of the glow plug. The test light should light. Touch all 8 glow plugs. Ant that do not light are bad and will need replaced. If glow plugs are burnt out then the controller will flash wait light to early or very fast. The wait light should be on for approximately 10 seconds. If al glow plugs check ok then I would suspect the glow plug controller as the problem. Also if the temperature out side is below 40 degrees the truck should be plugged in. This will help to make the engine start easier. Should you need further help please just ask. Please rate the answer as this way I know it was helpful. Thank You for using Fix Ya. Roger
