Question about Xantrex Technology Electronics - Others

Hello I have 40 foot 2006 fleetwood revolution and my problem the batterys would not go into chargeing mode and the red fault stayed lit. And then a electrical smell and shorting noise came out of the freedom 458 converter/ charger. Now while connected to full power pluged in the power slowly drops over 1/2 hour or so untill even the water pump will not work. If I start the motor home it all kicks back on after a min or so. Thanks Gary

Your Freedom 458 has died. At this point, you need to isolate the batteries from the inverter / charger unit to prevent further risk of fire.

It is normal, with the fried charger, for the battery voltage to plummet even while plugged in. There is no converter to maintain them. When you start your rig, the alternator on the engine is charging the batteries. With the rapid drop in battery voltage, your inverter likely is shorted.

Remove the main battery fuse between the inverter and batteries, as well as unplug / turn off the breaker to the inverter /charger. Take your coach to the nearet service center, as it may still be under (partial?) warranty.

Yellow led engine light illuminated..why

it lights up because the CPU has recorded a fault that needs urgent attention. stop check oil and coolant levels. have a fault code reading done and fix the fault. To continue driving will eventually place the engine in low power mode or will cause big dollar repairs.

Red indicator stays on

Try removing the batteries, pressing all of the buttons, and reinstalling the batteries or inserting new batteries. Sometimes remotes hang up and need this kind of maintenance

I have a 500 amp battery jump-starter # j5c09ca i know i have to charge it for 40 hrs before first use. after that do i have to charge it for 40 hrs.each time

No you do not. You are supposed to charge it for 24 hours before the first initial use. After that you are supposed to charge after it using it to jump start a vehicle or every 30 days if not used at all.

You are supposed to charge until the two red and one green LED lamps are lit SOLID. The unit should be fully charged once the LEDs are lit solid. Unplug the unit and put back into storage until needed. Again if not used for extended periods of time the unit should be charged ever 30 days.

My rowenta iron which is about 4-5 years old starts blinking the red on-off button after only 2-3 minutes of use. Also the orange button will not stay lit. What is the problem? The red on-off button does...

your iron has a thermostat fault its this thermostat thats cutting in and out that puts the red light on it could be fixed but that wont be a cheap fix best bet is to buy a new iron as that would work out cheaper

My APC RS 900 UPS is making a beeping noise and the red light on the front is blinking. It seems to be working, but what is it trying to tell me?

Without knowing which light is flashing I can only guess. From my experience and assuming it is the battery light that is lit and NOT the overload light, it can be one of two things, one is your battery is near the end of its life and needs to be replaced, and the other is that your battery is improperly connected.

To confirm if your battery needs to be replaced or not, you can run a self test. Ensure that the battery has had time to fully charge (and that it is definitely correctly connected), and then turn off the UPS, and turn it back on. It will automatically run a self test.

if the light stays lit, you need to order new batteries. One source is here: http://www.refurbups.com/APC-Back-UPS-RS-900-BR900-Replacement-Batteries

If it IS the overload light that is lit, you simply have too much equipment attached to the UPS, more than the inverter can handle. Try removing some equipment until it turns off.

Engine and battery lites on speedometer stay lit

I am assuming that the lights you're talking about stay illuminated even with the engine running. Now, I don't know a lot about all these computerized bikes. I work on the older stuff that Harley won't touch. But, I would suspect something to do with the charging system with these two lights being lit.

Make sure your battery is charged up completely. Then start your bike and put a volt ohm meter across the battery. Red lead to positive, Black lead to negative, meter set to 20 volt or higher DC scale. Bring the engine up to a high idle. Your voltage should slowly rise to nearly 15 volts. If not, you probably have something wrong with your charging system. Repost and we'll start down that road with you. If that checks good, I don't have a clue. Good Luck.

When I placed my Lithium Ion Battery in the charger it doesn't carge the batter and the red light that's supposed to stay lit while it's charging keeps on blinking on and off.

How old is the battery?

It's very possible that the blinking light is indicating a bad/old battery. These rechargeable batteries after so many cycles lose it's charging capability and the fault system built into the recharging base will indicate by giving you the red light on & off. Energizer rechargeable station is a good example when it detects old or bad batteries.
