Dear Sirs, I have been using Toshiba Satellite M326 for about one year. Suddenly, the touch pad no longer working and now I need to use an external mouse. I am not sure whether it is due to the fault of the touch pad or I have accidently lock the touch pad. Please advise

If you accidentally turned it off it would be one of the function keys. The one for the touchpad would have a small picture of a touchpad on it and a touchpad with a diagonal line through it. Possibly F9. You have to press and hold the Fn key and press the key with the small picture of a touchpad on it together. If that doesn't work then you might have a problem with the touchpad or the software for it.

Touch pad problem

I also have encountered that problem particularly on my touchpad. When I tried to open the laptop I've notice that the flex cable connecting the touchpad to my motherboard is detached. When I put them back. It was working properly.

Thanks. Cheers!

The cursor of my toshiba satellite has gone out of control .

You can try reinstalling the driver. I'm not sure how old your computer is or how much use it's had, it could be that the touch pad is worn out and needs to be replaced. You could try using a plug in mouse or track ball. Track balls work better with a laptop and are more like using a touch pad.

try to check your touch pad without AC power i mean run your computer on battery if your touchpad working ok on battery so there is a problem with your adapter ampere ask any local repairing center to check your adapter ampere or change your adapter and do not purchase compatible adapter, compatible adapter can not resolve your touch pad problem go for original adapter from toshiba

Left touch pad key no longer moves down and up. Must press very hard to activate. It started failing slowly. Right touch can can be depressed without problem. I think touchpad module needs replacing.

I agree. Check your warranty. If it is still within a year, call Toshiba 1800-4577777. They can replace the touchpad module at no cost. It is a complete set though.

Hope this helps.

Touchpad and mouse buttons suddenly stopped working on Toshiba Satellite (model A35-S159). Downloaded and installed upgraded driver for it, still, tried removing and reinstalling driver, rebooting, etc....

you did wrong things first .. you needn't to download the driver as you are not sure of your model touchpad company. i think you have downloaded the wrong driver . first you have to knoew the company's name then go to thier official website thier check your driver version correctly. as you have a new system you needn't to download driver as they are installed when you buy it.
so try Roll Back Driver in device manager touch pad option after that ur touch pad works

Download the touch pad driver from the manufacturer's website.

Perform a complete power drain

Disable the mouse device from device manager and enable it.
