Question about Akai LCT3201AD 32 in. LCD Television
When I turn the TV on, I get the blue "AKAI" screen for about 2 seconds, then the screen goes totally black. There is still sound. AKAI support said it is probably the Video board and to take it to a shop. Where can I order a video board? Year and a half old TV.
More then likely it is the video board. Let me explain why. If the entire power supply was bad you would have what is called a "dead set" meaning no picture and no sound. Now in the likelihood that just the section of the power supply that supplied power to the video board was bad, now that might be the case, however unlikely as it is. Now the best way to see if this is the case would be to measure the DC voltages of the power supply to determine if that is the case. For this task you will need a voltage meter and a schematic of the TV. If you have a background in electronics this would be a snap, if you do not have a background in electronics, I would suggest that you take the Tv to a qualified TV repair shop so that the repairs can be done.
If it is just the video board you will need to follow the replacement instructions exactly as the schematic will show you.
You can usually order the board from the manufacture or one of their customer support shops. Go to the manufacture's web site and look under customer support or repairs.
I hope this helps,
