Grinding setting is one simple operation but requires bit patience:

  1. Turn on your grinder and continue setting to fine while burrs are spinning, you stop when you hear metal to metal touch sound(burrs maximally closed finest grinding)
  2. From that point go back quarter of revolution and mark the spot where you stopped with marker to body of grinder and setting plate with one line
  3. Grind little amount of coffee only to fill one sector of dosser than test it at your machine (if it leaks too fast and with yellow color of cream you should go to more fine>><< if it does not leak from the filter holder or it leaks very slow you go to in opposite way.
  4. You test grinding few times bit after each reset of plate grind little amount and take that in one other pot (that will provide to have pure new granulation)
  5. After setting measure the grounded coffee that comes out from dosser it should be about 7 grams, better measurement you can get if you measure 10 doses in one place because you don't get never same amount from 6 sectors of dosser.

PS: the pump pressure of coffee machine should be from 8 to 10 bar and steam pressure should be from 1.1 to 1.5 bar> depends on type of coffees you use.

Simonelli Microbar ii the grinder positions change settings every time make a coffee grinder mooving positions automaticaly

First, I'm not a Simonelli technician. Though I've worked on similar table top machines.
* The grinder on these small machines (compared to commercial units) are usually manually adjusted. They are usually built with a range from very fine Turkish coffee (like talcum powder) to a fairly fine auto drip grind. You should not be able to coarse it up as used in a french press.
* There should be some sort of indexing to indicate at least the direction to rotate the grind adjust, say; fine to coarse, or even Turkish to American, etc. Though it may be a generic + to -.
* There may be a positive 'click' to each setting or possible hold down lock mechanism. But the most common is a spring loaded nub that clicks into place. If yours did click before and not now then you need to take it in for service as you probably lost the part (tiny ball and spring)
* A thought; If your an "Americano" drinker (course grounds will hot water filtered through it to fill a Mug size cup) then it may have happened when adjusting to the larger grind size. The indexer ball and spring is only held down by the height of the grind ring. Exceeding the largest grind will allow the ball and spring to pop out of position which can fall into the burrs and destroy them. It may be possible the ball (steel ball bearing) is still trapped in the burr plates and moves them around. Can't grind steel.
* Still got problems? Check with vendor or MFR for service or replacement. Most machines of this type do not have serviceable parts or adjustments.

I can hear the grinder on nuova simonelli try to gring, but it seems like soemthing is stuck. how can i fix this?

Remove the bean hopper and vac out all beans, then remove black cover, then 3 phillips screws, and top part of burrs should come off. Clean our chamber then reassemble. DO NOT TURN ON. Make sure middle nut in chamber spins freely, use fingers to turn, if not adjust setting to coarser, until it moves freely, then turn on grinder. All you have to do now is set your grind.

With the dial turned to "Turkish" I still get a very course grind. How to adjust/fix?

On the adjusting knob there are 2 set screws (outside of the center) and an adjustment screw (the one in the middle). First make sure the LARGE screws on the side of the SELECTOR plate are tight. Start with the selector on Turkish, with the grinder OFF loosen the set screws about one full turn each. Leaving the selector on Turkish turn the grinder on and gradually VERY SLOWLY turn the center screw clockwise. Eventually you will hear the burrs inside touching. After they touch back of the center screw about 1/8 of a turn. Tighten the SET SCREWS tight as they may allow the grinder to go out of adjustment if not tight. Test the grind with very little coffee and throw those grounds out. Then grind and brew! If these grinders are adjusted too fine you may have problems with the grinds not falling and may back up.

What is the proper number setting for the grinder

There isn't one, because your grind depends on the bean you are using, the temperature and so on. The best thing you can do is clear the burr chamber of beans, then turn grinder clockwise until you can no longer turn the brass fitting in the middle, then turn counter-clockwise to about 4 numbers that will give you a nice starting point to setting your grind.
