Whenever i try to play a song on my phillips gogear vibe mp3 player it sais "file format not supported' and they are mp3 files. What gives?

"File format not supported" means that the song that you've downloaded into your MP3 player is NOT an .MP3 file format. For each MP3 player have their own supported file formats. You need to check the manual of your MP3 player to see what are the supported sound file formats (i.e. .mp3, .wma, .mp4). Then check the file format of the songs that are saved in your player.

If the songs are supported but you're still getting the error message, try to delete all the songs and then download the songs again and save it into your player. If the same problem occur, then it may need a firmware upgrade or reformat.

Thank you and good luck!

Reformatted error

Do your files open when you hook it up to the USB in your computer? If so copy and save them there then try reformatting the player's drive.
If you can't copy the files to your computer, go to http://tinyurl.com/y5p85or, (click on "proceed to site") and pick a file recovery app. Use that to recover your music files to your computer, then try reformatting your mp3 player. If it reformats and works OK you're lucky --if not at least you will have copied your music.

When I sync unknown error pops up

I'm not sure about error -48, but most often an error like this is caused by a corrupt music file not being able to be copied and stopping the sync. First, see if you can sync another playlist that doesn't contain any of the same songs. If it works, then it's just a matter of figuring out which song is corrupt. If you watch what song the sync is hanging on, sometimes you can pick it up quickly. ...good luck.

How to download

Download limewire online (free version) Pick songs or artist on the left screen. When songs come up on the right highlight and click download. When its done highlight at lower secondary screen and click EXPLORE have your device plugged in and SAVED file will come up. Highlight that song and then click save this file it will download on your device. NOTE: only use mp3 files and never use one if it comes up corrupted. Just pick another source above and get a good one. Have fun!!!

Error 507

Hi

The Error 507 is generally a result of an I/O problem with the target device.
Some possible causes of this error are:
  • Target device is full.
  • a "bad spot" on a CD-RW disk (possibly cured with a reformat).
  • a loss of connection on a network disk (especially with wireless networks).
  • a firewall blocking access to a networked backup device
  • out of date driver software for a CD writer.
  • hardware problems with the a disk, disk controller or network.
The error will also occur if attempting to save a backup file greater than 4gb on a disk formatted with the FAT32 file system. You must use the NTFS disk format if files are larger than 4gb. Alternately, all of our backup programs allow you to save the backup file in smaller 'chunks' to avoid the 4gb limit of FAT32.

Format error

It's an unsupported file format. Are you trying to play files that were ripped in I-tunes? I-tunes does not make mp3s, it makes m4a files, which are not supported. Make sure the files you put on this player are mp3 files. You can also use wma files, but you will probably need to use Windows Media Player to transfer those files.

Let me know how you get on & shout if you need more help!
