If this is a Bissell, there is a float in the tank that may be stuck. But you also have a years warranty on this, if you can't figure it out, take it for warranty repair.

Try taking tank out see if the sensor that might be stuck or the tank may have a small piece broken off that keeps the auto shut off working. Try utube for further videos on this problem.

I was just given one of these. After cleaning an entire room and going through the entire tank of solution the recovery tank was bone dry. is that normal or should some of the water have been recovered?

Is it a carpet cleaner? If so, you should have dirty water (vacuumed from the carpet) in the recovery tank.
Most carpet cleaners have a transparent vacuum intake so you can see the dirty water going in as you pull back on the return sweep. Check for clogs or a broken belt. I advise against using you cleaner until the water pickup is repaired. Leaving water in the underlayment can cause mold, mildew and rotten floorboards.
I hope this helps. Good Luck!

I need to know why the Hoover Max Extreme keeps telling me t check the tank?

Hi! The solution and water goes in the top tank. Dirty water is suctioned into the bottom tank as you're scrubbing your floors. To fill the clean water tank, remove the clean water tank cap. The cap serves as a measuring cap for the solution. Fill the cap with Hoover carpet washer solution to the fill line. Pour detergent into tank. Fill the rest of the clean water tank with hot tap water and twist the cap back on. You are now ready to clean. Hope this helps!

Hoover brush and wash instruction manual

Hi there! To prepare for cleaning, put the solution and water in the top tank. While cleaning, all the dirty water gets sucked into the bottom tank. To clean squeeze trigger to release cleaning solution and slowly push carpet cleaner forward, this equals one wet stroke. Continue to squeeze trigger and slowly pull carpet cleaner back toward you (second wet stroke). Release trigger and slowly push carpet cleaner forward over area just sprayed with solution (dry stroke). Then slowly pull carpet cleaner back toward you without squeezing trigger (dry stroke). To avoid saturating the carpet don't do more than 4 wet strokes over one area. Always end with dry strokes. Here is a link to view the instruction manual if needed.

I have a Hoover SpinVac SpinScrub machine and have used it seven times. The last time I used the machine to clean my carpets, it would not **** up the dirty water. I clean it out each time I use it, but...

The most common reason for lack of pick-up is that the lid is not fully seated on the dirty water tank. Be sure to hook it in front before latching it in the rear. Another common issue is that the duct is missing from the front of the lower tank. The duct is removed to install the attachment hose, and must be put back in place before trying to clean carpeting. It is a square plastic piece - about the size of a slice of bread - which slides in and out of the dirty water tank.

Please assist. i have not use my cleaner in awhile not sure if the clean water goes in the top or bottom.

Hello,

The clean water goes in the upper tank mixed with shampoo, and after the water is extracted from the carpet, it will go into the lower tank. Clean water top tank, dirty water lower tank.

Hope this helped you!

HOW DO i GET THE WATER OUT OF THE CARPET ONCE IT'S CLEANED?

Do you have a shop vac . Take the bag out of the shop vac ,and **** up the water . When you are done open your windows and do not walk on the carpet for at least one hour . You want your carpets to dry with the pile standing up. Carpet rake is the best thing to use . Best of luck Ed.

Hoover Upright Steam Vac, 12 amp

  • Check to make sure that the lower dirty water lid is installed and secure and not cracked.
  • Check to make sure the front duct panel is installed on the dirty water tank (this will transition the water from the front nozzle into the tank)
  • Check the filter in the dirty tank lid, clean if necessary
  • Remove the lower tank and look at the motor cover, locate a round hole, you should see a black ring (gasket).
  • with the lower tank removed, turn the machine on to check suction at the round hole, if OK then your problem will be with one of the above reasons
