Question about Vacuums

Where is the "fuse"on a shop vac E87S459 vacuum with the 8134697 power unit? I can't find anyone yet who can tell me!

Saying is does not have a fuse (I sure did not see one when
I took it apart!) simplifies matters as I'll focus on the switch
and see what happens! The switch buttons that toggle from
off to on did seem to have less resistance than when new
and the unit had suddenly died within one second of turning it
on. Actually, when I'd pressed "on" it just made a half hearted
attempt at start up but then quit. Thanks!

To my knowledge that unit doesn't have a fuse - only a simple power button. Check the button, it might be broken

Shop vac doesn't work. Does my shop vac have a thermo fuse?

Contact the manufacturer of device. They may help you. If not, make sure that current is reaching the on/off switch and that the power is reaching the motor - if power gets to motor and still nada then the issue is probably with the brushes not making proper contact with the commutator.

Shop vac stopped working

Motors have a thermal safety fuse in the field winding. If it overheats, it will blow and either can be replaced or the whole field winding will have to be replaced. It is wired and is not considered to be a user servicable item.

Shop vac fuse

Very rarely do vacuums have a fuse in them. You probably have a bad switch or possibly a bad motor.

Where is the circuit breaker on a wet/dry shop vac

There is a thermo fuse in the field winding under the tape. When it overheated the fuse went bad.

Motor stopped running...i have veard this could be

I have the same shop vac with the same problem. I have disassembled it and can tell you the motor core windings go to two posts of what appear to be some sort of fuse, and that's where the open circuit is in mine. (I bypassed it to test the motor, and it started up fine). Now I'm trying to figure out whether that fuse can be replaced.

I have an electolux [ lux classic] vacuum cleaner, and there is no power to it. I think it is a loose wire, as it was tempermental before. I can't find a way to get into it to see if it is a wire

Does the green power light located on the top of the vac come on with the cord plugged in the outlet ? If so your switch could be bad. If not, you could have a bad connection or a broken wire. Caution ! If you do get into the vac, you can cause more damage to the vac. Is the vac more than five years old. If not, your vac is still under waranty and you should get it fixed for free. Take it back to you Aerus/Electrolux shop. You can find out if the unit is still under waranty by calling the customer service with the serial number. They can tell you. 1-800-243-9078.
If you still want to get into the vac (which I do not recommend) let me know and I will tell you.

If the vac shuts off and then turns back on after waiting a while. could be a thermal fuse. it is in the motor compartment. recommend a pro shop service this issue.

Craftsman shop vac no power when turn on

I just picked up a similar model someone was throwing away. turns out there is a thermal fuse inside the motor housing that blew. I just need to find the values of the fuse and repalce with appropriate size. motor runs when fuse is bypassed.

Nutone cv353 central vac blew up

My guess would be that the motor is done. Impossible to diagnose for sure without seeing it of course. If you were happy with the unit before the trouble, a replacement motor will probably run $250-$300. If you are interested in a new unit, shop around. There are definitely better designed and more powerful units out there, although some of them can cost quite a bit more than $300. Good Luck!!

Shop vac 90L400 stopped working won't start

I had the same problem with the same model. Turned out to be the thermal fuse on the motor housing, between the switch and the windings. Took it apart and replaced the melted solder with 14 guage copper wire. Works fine! No thermal protection but I don't use it for long at a time anyway. Check the switch for continuity, if good then check the thermal fuse for continuity. If good, it's the motor.
