The idiots didn't hook up the yellow wire straight to a battery/ignition source.Tell them they hooked the red and yellow wires together and you want it fixed.I guarantee it.I don't care what kind of car you have(kinda)for at least 30 years there has been a wire built in to factory stereo harnesses just for that purpose. They f***ed up.Unless you have about a 1975 car that is.In any American or Japanese or Kia,that's the setup.I would imagine with all the technology these days, practically any car has that setup. What are you in the UK?I just googled them.Good luck! Red goes to ignition, yellow goes straight to battery power.

Stereo, cigarette lighter and central locking don't work on daewoo matiz 04

sounds like there's an issue with your fuses, you'll probably need to buy a full fuse set for your matiz. if not check that all the cables are in tact and that nothing is disconnected.

hi, I have the same problem. The central remote locking is controlled by the soriginal stereo. Thats why it has an extra section of wires than other stereos. I cut this section off and connect it back to the original stereo and the remote lock works again. but as long as you connect the rest of the wires to the new stereo, the lock lost again. Now is like nly music or the lock. I have not find a way to let both of them work. Please let me know if you do.

Hello! I'm trying to fit a new stereo to a 307cc (a Pioneer DEH-50UB) using the PC2-86-4 harness adaptor, but I'm a bit confused about the 2 extra red and pink wire's on the adaptor. What wire's do they...

I went to Halfords and asked someone!..
The pink wire has no use and doesn't need connecting to anything.
The red wire need's to connect to a temporary power source (the cigarette lighter) via scotch lock connection. Only problem there was having to take most of the centre console apart which was a bit fiddly but on the whole not to bad.
Start to finish the job took about 40 minutes.

Radio cassette removal from 1996 toyota corolla

HI
I took my car to halfords to have my stereo fitted (also bought stereo from Halfords). they basically had to taken everything out of the middle bit to get to the stereo (All the air vents and control switches etc). It took about an hour to do, but at least you know there is no quick way to steal the radio once it is in. I think it helped that I managed to get a guy that had once been a macanic so he knew what he was doing.
Hope this helps

Had the face stolen off Alpine CDA-9847! Will another model fit this unit? If not where can I buy just the face (Halfords want £95!)

Had a quick look on Ebay, there is only one bieng sold. Do a search for item number 330262508262

Its located in America, just to be on the safe side ask the seller a question to see if he will send to the UK.

The alternatives is to pay what halfords is asking or buy a new stereo.

Hope this helps
