Question about Simplex Kaba Ilco Unican 1000 keyless lock

1 Answer

I'm a firefighter and we had an issue trying to get to a patient behind on of these locked doors later on. The ambulance crew said there was a master code but they didn't know what it was. I was wondering if you knew what is was. We have several of these types of locks in our district.

There is no master code. To have such a thing would make every one of these locks useless if it got out. Generally this type of lock can only have 1 code at a time.

Sometimes a company or housing community that uses these locks will use the same code for all of them, and they may call it a master code but it is something that they have set on their units only.

The best thing you can do is to contact places which have locks which could prevent you from accessing a patient and see if they will give you the code. Unfortunately, the problem with this is that codes get changed and the fire department is not notified.

Then again, the fire department goes on medical calls for just this type of thing. Grab the irons off the truck and force the door.

Good luck and stay safe.

If you are having oven problems with your GE XL44 oven then you need to do a bit of oven troubleshooting. The first part of that problem is to know what the oven fault codes are trying to tell you.

The codes F0, F1, and F7 could either be a problem with the control or the keypad.
-to see what the problem is cause by, push clear/off on the keypad. Then disconnect the ribbon connector from the control. Wait at least 35 seconds to see if the code comes back. If the code comes back then the control is the problem. If the code does not come back, then replace the key panel.

F2 – This means there has been a problem with the temperature of your oven. It could be a cooling fan or air flow problem. Also could be that the oven got too hot in either a baking mode or a cleaning mode.
-check to make sure the contactor contacts are not welded together. If this happens the oven will always be putting out heat, even if turn off. The thermal switch may also have burnt out. If this switch is open then the fan may be bad, causing the thermal switch to activate. The thermistor that senses oven temperature may also bed bad or have a poor connection somewhere.

F3 and F4 - These are oven temperature sensor codes.
- check the sensor by removing power to the range and then removing the sensor. Check that the sensor reads approximately 1100 Ohms at 72 degrees F. Then check the oven sensor lead to make sure that it is not shorted out. Then check the terminals to make sure that you are getting good contact. If everything checks out okay, then replace the control.

F5 – This is a relay safety circuit failure code
-check the lock circuit for problems. Then check the thermistor for high resistance. Press clear/off on the key pad and reprogram the control. If the code is still there then replace the control.
The F5 code can also result from a short loss of power. If you had a power flicker then reset the control.

FC – This shows a problem with the door lock circuit. Check all the wires and the switches. Check the operation of all the switches.

FD – This is a problem with the meat probe. Check the probe wiring and the receptacle where the probe plugs in at. Resistance on the probe should be 30 to 50K ohms at 72 degrees F.

FF – This is a problem with the door motor safety circuit. To fix this the control will need to be replaced.

cylinder 8 is missing combustion which caused the o2 code the black box will not cause a specific cylinder to miss, there fore a fuel distribution problem is evident, the injector on eight is proablly the culprit the #8 cylinder is the last cylinder to be fed a fuel, pressure test is needed to determine if the fuel pump is strong enough to deliver diesel, ambulance spend a lot of time idling causing fatigued fuel pumps

My fisher & paykel washer wont start it beeps and says the lid isnt closed, but it is and there is a little ambulance that comes on the screen

I believe the lid switch is faulty, for the later modules the microswitch is mounted inside the door lock mechanism, others under the lid/top left side.

The ambulance is just saying to call for help....

My 2004 gmc crew cab, when i hit the lock button the 2 rear doors do not lock. every once in a while they will lock. where do i start to look for the problem? thanks

Maybe the actuators (electromagnetic) are going bad. I would try to replace that part first if there is intermittent or weak operation of power door locks.

Door adjustment for a 96 f350 dropped about 1/2"

Here's the solution: You might want to park it under a tree and tie a rope to the door to pull it up when loosened.
ADJUSTMENT Fig. 1: Door hinge adjustment 84920001.gif
Fig. 2: Rear door hinge adjustment, F-350 Crew Cab 84920002.gif
NOTE: Loosen the hinge-to-door bolts for lateral adjustment only. Loosen the hinge-to-body bolts for both lateral and vertical adjustment.
  1. Determine which hinge bolts are to be loosened and back them out just enough to allow movement.
  2. To move the door safely, use a padded prybar. When the door is in the proper position, tighten the bolts to 19–25 ft. lbs. (25.5–34.5 Nm) and check the door operation. There should be no binding or interference when the door is closed and opened.
  3. Door closing adjustment can also be affected by the position of the lock striker plate. Loosen the striker plate bolts and move the striker plate just enough to permit proper closing and locking of the door.
