Potman,

Does this happen all the time, or does it happen only in certain applications. Connect a mouse to your laptop and open other programs to test.

If it doesn't work at all restart your laptop. Test again in different apps.

If still not working, then you need to refresh your driver. How you do this depends on your operating system.

Let us know how you go with this so far...

I have a toshiba laptop the mousepad won't move.

First connect a mouse to your laptop. Click "Start" and open the control panel, click printers and other hardware and then click "mouse". Under mouse properties, click the "device settings" tab. Under the device window, you can see if the touchpad is enabled or not. If it is not enabled, click on the enable button.then click "apply" of "ok" button. Your touchpad should be working again.

I have an optical mouse and the cursor keeps moving all over the place

Your mousepad is the problem. Do not use a pad with many colors or pattern. Use only one color on which your mousepad will slide. I found purple as best color to reflect light from an optical mouse. Also, avoid using glossy pads or sliding the mouse on glass.

I have a laptop and the mouse does not seem to work we have had it for around 2 months please can you help me

Remove your mouse (unplugged computer) and see if your mousepad (on your laptop) works. If it works then you have to change your mouse.

My toshiba Satellite A135-S2276 boots up normally and then before it freezes I hear a static sound coming from the speakers and then computer does nothing at all

the problem seems to be related to static shock affecting toshiba mousepads, speaker grills, and USB ports. It's a common problem, and it is affecting my Toshiba laptop too. Here's an article I came across trying to diagnose the frequent freeze-ups:

I HAVE AN ASPIRE 5050-3242 LAPTOP. MY BATTERY DOESN'T SEEM TO GETTING CHARGE. IT'S HARD FOR ME TO LOG ON. THE KEYPAD NOR THE MOUSEPAD WON'T WORK.

The battery may need to be replaced, as well as the mouse and keyboard. If you like, I could take a look at the laptop for you.

I have a toshiba equium laptop and i am having problems with the mouse pad. It works ok when I plug in a mouse but not with the pad

Ok, i think I get what you are saying...correct me if I am wrong.

You have a desktop PC where the mouse will not work while it is on the mousepad?

If that is the case, check this: If it is a optical/laser mouse (a light on the bottom, instead of a ball) make sure your mousepad is not made from a reflective material like plastic. Try a fabric pad.

Hope this helps.
