Question about Gaggia Titanium Espresso Machine

Coffee Beans Empty - but the hopper is full!

The grinder whirs around as if it was grinding beans for about 20-30 seconds but then it just stops and reports a "coffee beans empty" on the display.  I have vacuumed out the grinder to remove any possible stuck material, this seemed to worked once, but now it just isn't working.
Help!

Caffeind...the problem is likely still some bean remnants stuck in a switch which is causing the problem. Get some newspaper and open it up on a flat surface. Invert the grinder and give it a couple of thumps on the newspaper. The chips should loosen up and fix it. Remember, beans are both sharp in shape and oily in makeup...perfect for getting stuck.

Bean hopper is full, machine starts to grind the coffee but right before it starts to pull the shot, it stops & says "add beans to hopper".

the add beans to hopper signal most likely is triggered by the machine not sensing enough load put on the grinder (hence it thinks its out of beans) , this most likely is set by the grind (fine/course ) id say the grind is set to an improper size and the automatic sensor is picking up on that
another thing is the coffee / if its way too moist and not dry enough then its also going to trip the sensor as well

Grinder does not stop

I need more information to solve this.

If you mean the grinder just spins but doesn't seem to be grinding anything - and then after 30 seconds or so it tells you the bean hopper is empty - then the problem is sticky, oily beans that aren't sliding down into the grinder.

You want to buy freshly roasted (roasted less than a week ago) beans. Coffee beans from the supermarket are old, stale and sticky with rancid oil. Even Starbucks and Peets - although the sign says "roasted daily" if you read the fine print, the beans in the store are rotated out 90 days after roasting. The oils turn rancid and get sticky after a couple of weeks so you really need to get beans from a local roaster or order them from a roaster who ships them fresh.

I have been using RedBird espresso blend and these beans work perfectly with this machine. They also are the best tasting of any espresso blend I've ever tried. The price is reasonable (cheap even) and the roast date is written on the bag. I get my beans 2 days after they were roasted.

In the meantime, until you get some coffee beans that are not oily, you can stir the beans in the hopper. Use a wooden coffee stirring stick or a chopstick and just lift the hopper lid and stir the beans so they slide down into the grinder. You will probably have to do this before each coffee and maybe even 2-3 times just to get one coffee.

Once you get some fresh roasted beans that don't have that oily shine to them you will be grinding without any problems.

Machine says beans are empty and will not brew.

Try adjusting the grinder coarser when it is running. Either the grind is too fine or the grinds chamber is blocked, remove the brew unit and check the gate to the grinder on the inside right.

Ground coffee will not dispense

The beans are hanging up in the hopper and not falling down into the grinder...... wiggle it, give the beans a push, or go to a bean that is not so sticky....

Coffee beans don't grind even though there are beans in the hopper. Message: empty coffee beans. Grinder turns, but doesn't sound like the beans are going through.

Sounds like you have a blockage in you grind passage. Try removing the brew group. Then inside on the roof of the machine where the brew unit was setting there is a drop chute where the coffee is dropped into the brew unit. From the left side of the drop chute pull down and back, and it will drop coffee. This will clear an opening that relieves pressure on the passage. There is a passage inside the drop chute area that goes to the grinder. Vacuum it out. It will be on the right side of the drop chute.
Once that is cleared go to the bean hopper. There is a lever on the right side of the bean hopper. Push the lever back to the largest number. You can push the lever to a larger number any time but it has to be grinding to pull to a smaller number. Now replace everything and make your coffee. Once you have made your coffee you can pull back to a number that was higher than the one you had it on, but only when the grinder is running.

Coffee beans empty

Hi
Coffee beans empty is caused by the grinder running for about 15 seconds without filling the doser chamber. Sounds like you have a blockage in you grind passage. Try removing the brew group. From the left side of the drop chute pull down and back, and it will drop coffee. This will clear an opening that relieves pressure on the passage. Saeco Royal=,beans do not appear to be grinding, machine whirs for 30 seconds then says add beans have tried 2 different types beans after cleaning bean hopper works first 2 coffees ok then stops

Coffee Beans were roasted by local business, believe they were either not roasted enough or over roasted causing the problem, I have since tried Supermarket(Vittoria Roasted Beans) and machine is working perfectly.
Thankyou

Incanto de Luxe always tells me there are no beans in container

I do have the same problem.

I have removed and cleaned the grinder mechanism.

Being an electronic technician I did have a look and tried to find what method they use to detect that the new beans reservoir is empty and I did not see any kind of detector.

I suspect that they monitor the motor current to do this. If it is so would'n it be possible to desable this fonction since it is more then evident when the reservoir is empty or about to be?

Any body knows how they do monitor the status of the new beans reservoir?
