Why not just clean the screens to increase the fill pressure and spend not 1 cent on the repair.

OK, I think I have this one figured out! There are relays on the control board that operate the solenoid valves. Apparently the cold water one gets the most use, so it dies first. They are using cheap relays to
switch inductive loads without any surge suppression to prevent contact arcing. Eventually, the contacts become so burned they can't reliably turn on the water valves.

The relays are Panasonic JQ1AP-B-12V, Digi-Key sells them for
$5.05 as part # 255-2937. I am going to add surge suppressors
across the relay contacts to try to save the other relays. I should have the parts in a couple days and will report how well this works. If you are handy with a soldering iron, you can save yourself about
$270 bucks with this fix. If not used to doing tricky soldering, I can't recommend you try this. The cold water relay is K7.

This is exactly what is happening, machine is in rinse mode and LF showed up on the screen, just changed the valves. They are brand new shut offs. Is there a way to reset. The LF only comes on in the rinse mode.

I had to replace the control panel board on my Kenmore Elite Oasis He top loading washer and the same day it was replaced- the washer started displaying the LF code. It does it at 17minutes left in the normal cycle which is when it is rinsing. I have to hit the stop button and turn it off. Then turn it back on and start it in the rinse cycle again. Once I do this it finishes out but I have to do this process with every load I do. I feel like the guy that replaced the control panel board messed something up when he did it because this is a new problem that started with the first load after he replaced the board. I have had him come back out and he says the washer is not even registering that code and his best thought is to replace the water inlet valve- even though he tests the "solenoid" 6 part system and they all "light up" as working. Plus if it was this then why when I stop and restart it in the rinse cycle can it complete a cycle? Seem like it wouldn't be able to do this if it was the valve...

"LF" is a Long Fill error. If the fill time exceeds roughly 10 minutes, the fill valves are shut down and the error code is generated. If the error does not clear, or keeps reoccurring, it is recommended that you doublecheck to make sure your water taps are on all the way and check the hoses for kinks or clogs. If everything checks okay, check the screens on the fill valve for sediment build up. You may need to replace the valve. Post back with your complete model number (located around the tub opening) and I can give you better advice on how to access or obtain replace parts. I hope this helps you.

Is the washer still under a warranty? If not, why did you post a question if you were going to have a repairman fix this? I'm a repairman myself and was attempting to save you the burden (and the cost) of a repair job. If you read my post, I asked you for a model number so I could let you know where to get a replacement water inlet valve. No...this isn't a common problem, but an easy one to repair for the average Do-It-Yourselfer. Good luck to you. Please keep me in mind if you have any further problems.

Whirlpool duet washer LF error

LF error means "Long Fill". Whirlpool uses a flow meter that detects the flow of water entering the washer. If this flow meter does not detect the correct amount of water entering the washer it will sound the LF error code. Often this repair can be made with out calling an appliance repairman and without ordering parts. Start by removing the washer fill hoses; both the cold and the hot water hoses. Check for proper water pressure from the house. To do so, turn the water on and put the hose inside the washer or a bucket.

If water pressure is good, check the water valve inlet screens. Most residential washing machines have inlet screens. The screens prevent minerals from clogging the solenoid. With the hoses removed, you can visually inspect the water inlet screens. If the water valve screens are clear the inlet valve with the screens itself will need to be replaced. To replace the water valve, remove the top of the washing machine. Three screws hold the top down. The screws that hold the top down are on the back of the top panel. Once removed the top will slide back and off. Now remove the wire harness that connects to the valve. One screw holds the valve to the washers cabinet. Removing the screw and sliding the valve over will release the valve from the back panel enabling you to complete your repair.

One last thing to check is the fill hoses. These front load washers call for a lot of water quickly. So if you have stainless steel braided flood-safe hoses, they will trip for no reason at all. Replace these flood safe hoses with more traditional hoses. If the hoses are good and you haven't found anything slowing down the flow of the water, your electronic inlet water valve is just faulty on the back of your washer and will need to be replaced because it's just not allowing water flow into the washer correctly.

Washing machine displays an LF error code. Started last week during whitest whites cycle in rinse. I cancelled and just did rinse to finish my load. All other cycles worked and yesterday all started...

LF = Long Fill

LF flashes when the water level does not change for a period of time after the valves are turned on OR water has disengaged the basket but control does not detect a water level change.
Is water supply connected and turned on?
Are hose screens plugged?
Is water entering the tub? If so check pressure hose connection to machine/motor control.

How do I fix my washer that only says 'sud' constantly and won't work at all? Whenever I try to start a cycle nothing happens. Whenever I push a button nothing happens. Please Help.

http://whirlpool.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2948
Hi please go to this above link, it is all explained at length what is going on and what to do.

This error code indicates that excessive detergent suds occurred during the cycle.
If a "Sud" or "Sd" error code is displayed, or if you can see excessive suds in the window:
There are too many suds in the washing machine. The washer will not be able to spin out water with the excess suds. When "Sud" or "Sd" is displayed, the washer automatically extends the rinse time to remove the excess suds. During this time, the washer pauses the tumbling and adds water for additional rinsing. This pause allows the bubbles in the suds to break. This pause and rinsing are necessary and may occur several times to eliminate the suds. See the animation below for more information.
  • If you see "Sud" or "Sd" with the Rinse status light on, the washer is in the process of removing suds. Let the cycle continue.
  • If you see "Sud" or "Sd" and the Cycle Complete light is on, the washer detected too many suds during the cycle and your load may not be fully rinsed or water may not be fully removed. You may want to select a Rinse/Spin cycle for further rinsing.

Neptune Washer Spin Cycle

If your FAV6800A or FAV9800A wash tub is banging around in Spin Cycle of the Wash Cycle and your Control Board signals a dC or uC error code to the console I feel you have a Clutch malfunction. I feel the TDS is working as designed with the unblance error code shut down.
See my Clutch Fix post for more info related to dC and uC unbalance errors with the FAV6800A and FAV9800A TL’s and the repair action…….Rich

LF code

■ “LF” (Washer is taking too long to fill)
Check the following:
Are the water inlet hoses kinked or clogged?
Are the water inlet valve screens clear?
Press PAUSE/CANCEL to clear display.

Recalibration is not needed but, you will need to check the above hoses and valves for obstructions and kinks.

Please rate and god bless.

LF code appears and washer does not spin out

This is where to find the manual. When you get to it, it tells you that LF is for long fill which means it is taking longer than ten minutes to fill with water so it shuts off and displays the error code.

Bottom Line : Check your water pressure.

Kenmore Oasis has LF code on and won't reset

The LF code indicates "Long Fill" which means it is taking too long for the water to fill the washer (times out). From the owner's manual:

"LF" (Washer is taking too long to fill)
Check the following:
Are the water inlet hoses kinked or clogged?
Are the water inlet valve screens clear?
Press STOP to clear display.

Here's a suggestion I found that worked for me:

Check your drain hose to see it it's stuffed too far down the standpipe. Another poster had this problem and it gave her LF errors. If the drain hose hangs down too far it can siphon water out of the washer, and then the washer thinks it's taking too long too fill. There's supposed to be a U-shaped plastic bracket that sets the length of the drain hose where it goes into the standpipe. Your installer may have tossed it.
