SOURCE: Bought a sewing machine called

Vogue Stitch has been an older local (US) brand for Husqvarna machines - their production ended at least 15 years ago. During that time they produced more than 100 different models. If you need a manual for one then please post the model number. By the way the manual for one of these has over 150 pages so no way you can see it here. Your best chance of finding one for an older model is some enthusiast forums like

SOURCE: My Singer Sewing machine (model

It's stuck inside. Open it up so you can see inside the bottom, look for the feed dog mechanism and you'll find where length of step is varied, this is where the reversing takes place too. Tapping gently and oiling will free it up.

Machine is stuck on reverse mode

Try this,Go back to straight stitch, zero your stitch length, zero your stitch width, turn your hand wheel towards you for few rounds then select a stitch length and see if the reverse lever will work normal after this. Otherwise get it fix by a local technician.

What is the difference between a sewing machine and a serger?

Well..... A serger (or overlock) sews a different, and usually more complex stitch. Where a sewing machine usually only uses two threads to make the stitch, a serger can use two, three, four or even five threads and will sew around the edges of the work piece, as well as trimming the edge of the work just ahead of the sewing area, or as you feed the work in, the trimming takes place first. Sergers also make a stronger seam, attributable to more thread / stitching in the seam. Sergers are versatile and quick, but one drawback is the fact that sergers make a chain stitch instead of a lock stitch, like a machine with a bobbin, and lock stitches can be pulled out, like the stitching that used to close dog food bags and bags of charcoal. A lock stitch is just what it sounds like, it can't be pulled out. You only get a lock stitch with a machine that uses a bobbin, and sergers don't use bobbins. That fact makes serging desirable for the speed of production. Changing bobbins takes up a lot of time, even if you are using pre-wounds. Hope this helps!

I am borrowing a sewing machine Genie 354 and can not see how to reverse. Please advise?

The reverse stitch is connected to the stitch length function. Reverse stitching usually takes place after adjusting past the smallest possible forward stitch. At no time does the machine motor ever run in a reverse direction. Look for an adjusting lever that controls stitch length.

My Singer Sewing machine (model 6215) is now only sewing in reverse. After pressing the backstitch button, the button seemed to stick in the backstitch position. I was finally able to pull the button out...
