Hi, my name is John. Have someone check your SWR on your antenna, they will do it at Radio Shack for free, or any CB shack. Turn your RF GAIN to max. Turn your MIC GAIN to max. Should do the trick, enjoy....hope this was very helpful.....

Why can't they hear me talk on a call

You phoned microphone needs to be replaced. The speaker and Mic are two different components and works independently as well. IF people on the receiving end cant hear you, then your microphone is not fuctioning. Take it ti yiur dealer if it is still under warrantee or a reputable repair shop to replace the microphone

How to install an ignition switch: Problem - van won't crank, it's not the starter or battery. The key turns all the way over when trying to crank, it feels like a spring or something is missin

did you try looking at the cylinoid? in certain mini-vans the cylinoids are very low end, designed to last about 2 years. I hear my friends & people on the radio talking about this exact problem, if i'm wrong or misunderstood you question i appologize!

Our line one cuts out even when we're talking on it & we can just barely hear the person on the line but they can hear us clearly. We have unplugged the phone's power cord & plugged it back in...

I have the same sort of My Vtech sorta 'cuts out' when there is noise at my hosue. The person I'm talking to can still hear me but I can't hear them. If my son starts crying or there's any other loudish type noises on my end, it's like the phone is trying to cutout my background noise, but all it's cutting out is the person talking to me. It's not that the noises in my house are loud and I jsut can't hear the person I"m talking to, b/c if i cover the mouth peice then no matter how loud the sound in my house is i can still hear the person i'm talking to but I HAVE to keep the mouth peice covered. It's really annoying!

I have a Galaxy Dx 66 that has real low audio, squeals for about two minutes when you turn it on an you cant hear anything on the talk back, I took it in to a shop an they said they didnt have time to look...

When some one at a shop says " I don't have the time to look at it." It really means, I haven't the slightest idea even were to begin to try and fix that radio, because I I am not really a tech, and I just sell Peak and Tunes, & snake oil.

I can't really say without looking at the radio and tracing down things, but there is sometimes a problem with a cap in the frequency counter circuit, that causes a buzzing sound.

As for the low modulation, there are too many things that could cause this. It really needs a tech, and your gonna end up paying to have it fixed. I would just call galaxy and talk to a tech, and most likely send it in.

You can look at the caps and look for ones that look damaged, or burnt. Also look for any components leads shorting on other components. If you find something that looks burnt or busted, if you have soldering skills, you can replace it with the same part.

You may solve some of the problems that way. That's the first thing you look at when working on a radio with a problem, the second is looking on the trace side of the board for cold solder joints.

From there its a lot of testing.
