Unfortunatly this reply was for another question ,i guess the nasty mob might be on my case!
However the answer might be check your ISP account is up an functional first then try a manual "static" or auto"dchp" config method.Dchp seems to configure wi-fi in an auto manner whilst static is for cable in on these machines

Is an Asus Eeepc 701 Linux OS & firfox browser compatible with a wireless N wifi router?

Yes, but the netbook only has a G card, so it won't be able to perate at the higher speed, and you'll have to make sure the router is in Mixed mode.

this problem might slow down if you have too many program installed in your EeePC, i have my own EeePC then I noticed if i put too many programs too dizzy to use it, maybe you don't have put any partition on your hard drive, repartition it. And then put only necessary programs to use. And also use Tuneup Utilities to remove and repair some unnecessary files inside your system. Good luck!

No wireless connection

I am assuming you're referring to the Asus Eee PC 701SD... if so, try the following:1. Check the hotspot to see what kind of IP address it is using [are they manually configured, or is there a DHCP server that assigns IP addresses] 2. Check your 701 and make sure its network connectivity conforms with the settings on the hotspot

Eeepc has no icons, just blue screen, can't access anything! Linux

When I was using Linux, there were 4 screens. On the bottom an icon showed which screen I was on. If you have that Icon, click the main screen (upper left) and you should be OK. Let me know if this works.
