    Hello,

My Aiwa model no. is CX-N999K, the display looks more like a vacuum tube with mercury deposited inside.

    Regards

    Peter.

You are right! there are two displays, both glow very faintly. What could be the cause of this?

Please post the model number. It is not likely the power supply. Depending upon the model, some use a small bulb to "backlight" an LCD. Others use LED displays. Get me the model and I can provide more details on what to look for.

There are two displays for this unit:

1)The top display (EQ) is part number: 83NF6618010 $34.27

2)Bottom display (CD) is part number: 83NF6617010 $34.27

If both displays are weak, the dispalys themselves are not likely to be the problem. If you can solder, try resoldering all of the pins for the displays. You may need to check the power supply. Unfortunately, trying to describe where and what to check in the power supply, is not easy in a forum like this. I would suggest that you take the unit to a Sony authorized service center for the actual repair if the resoldering does not resolve the problem.

I am not aware of the service manual being available outside of an authorized service center. I'll look up your model and try to provide more details.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

AIWA CX NAJ70 music at normal level but singing is faint in the background

That doesn't seem like a problem with the system/ But make sure any eq settings are all at 0 and your mids arent all the way down or much lower than your high and lows. But if thats not it then it has to do with your music, try a different song. a different cd all together

CD Changer

Common Problem with AIWA 3 disc machines. I have 3 in my service shop right now. For tray not rolling in on it's own, the drive rollers have to be changed, along with the Drive Belt. Also, for CD not reading, try CD lens cleaner.
