The plastic switch on the side is very whimpy. it's either disconnected from the toggle switch on the PCB board. Fiarly simple to verify that. If that is nt it. Your peltier thermalelectric
plate may have gone bad and the beertender may be in a current limit shutdown state. you can verify this by disconnecting the peltier plate from the board. You should do this with the tender not plugged in.

cost of plate is only $5 dollars.

Additional Information. Although the Peltier effect plate can go bad I found
an additional problem with the Krups Beer Tender design. The four
DC power supply Capacitors go bad. These are 16V electrolytic caps
3 x 1000uF and 1x500uF. All four of these caps were blown. Replace
these and the blinking screen will go away and Tender will star cooling once again. Send
me an email if any questions. This can also cause the unit not to turn on or turn on infrequently.

how to do go about verifying that these caps are bad? check resistance? shuold they measure as open if they are bad? My unit will not turn on. I opened unit to see if maybe there was a thermal fuse or buss fuse. Now im surfing for advice before i continue troubleshooting. any info to help? thanks

My beertender went bad. It would'nt turn on.. nothing, dead... I tested the peletier by connecting it directly to a desk top 12v power supply and it was fine. Hot on one side cold on the other. Then I went to the Power supply. Tested it with a VOM. No output. Then connected the desktop power supply directly to the power input wire to the control board. The control board is the green board on the left as viewed from the rear. Turned on the desktop power supply and voila the beertender worked fine. The four caps you mentioned are bulging a little on top and two look like they leaked a little. This whole thing ****** me off since these beertenders are (or were) really expensive, this is my 2nd one and neither have lasted more than 14 or so months.... If I didn't love the draft Heineken so much I would have just tossed it. But I like fixing stuff... so here we go!!! :o)

Where can I purchase tubes for my beertender B90 in the UK. How do I find out the product code so I can order as there are several differert types on Amazon.

As you have discovered, it is impossible to buy tubes in the UK. They can be ordered from the USA but they cost a fortune and the shipping fees are terrible. The best solution I have found is as follows: Log onto and enter Beertender tubes into their search engine. Scroll down the first page of the results and at the bottom right hand side select the link (see all matching items from international sellers). Scroll down the results and about the 4th one down is a French retailer selling 30 tubes for 10 pounds. OK, so they charge 20 pounds postage but if you buy 2 X 30 tubes, they postage is about 24 pounds - 60 tubes for a cost of 44 pounds. It is possible to reuse the tubes a few times - make sure the pressure is thoroughly expended and gently prise the tube from the keg. But, hey, I don't really see the point if all it costs is 8p for a new tube per keg. Bottoms up From Dogmanbrian

Krups Beertender VB5028CT (C75) totally dead now.

I had one that appeared totally dead and replaced four capacitors (~$5 to buy) and it's back up and running. If you pull the back of the unit and remove the unit attached to the power cord you'll see a pcb board. Look for any capacitors that look kind of rounded on the top (they should be flat). On mine it was a cluster of one 470 uF and three 1000 uf capacitors. Desolder those and solder in new ones. Mine were rated at 16 volts but I replaced them with 25 volt units for a bit more safety margin.

I have owned a Krups Beertender for about two years. It has been working fine. The unit thermostat light turned red about 24+ hours ago and mains on. The fan is working. The beer is warmer than usual. ...

It could be the peltier or bad capacitors on the power supply.

If it is caps on power supply they are cheap.

Our Krups Beer Tender B95 display started flickering on and off. We turned it off by the switch and back on. It continued flickering. We then unpluggedf it. When we plugged it back in, it totally shut...

Your power supply has gone bad. Mine did the same thing. Sent it to repair place (under warrenty) and it has been 2 months and it is still not back. If you can find another beertender for 100 it is cheaper to buy another OR JUST TRASH IT!!!! Obviously this thing is junk as there and 100's of the same postings of this problem.. fafe it... we got ripped off. Sad because I really liked it... when it worked

New danby kegerator - tastes like rubber hose

There is a check valve inside the coupler of the danby kegs that cause this problem. The valve is mainly there to prevent beer from back-flowing when changing the keg. Next time you change your keg check for a little black plastic retainer and also a small white plastic ball inside the coupler. Remove those (or just smell it) and you should notice that this is the taste/smell your beer has. I removed mine after this discovery, and there isn't any issues with the taste/smell since. I've heard this is a common issue with the Danby D coupler systems. Also, you won't have any issues with beer backflow when you change the keg, provided the line going to the tap is empty (which usually is if keg is kicked).
