Question about Printers & Copiers

1 Answer

This is for the lexmark 2400 series. Recently I have been getting a lot of paper jams straight away when printing, the last time this happened I rememoved the jam and pressed the power button but the flashing would not stop. I turned it off at the plug and eventually when I turned it back on again the problem resolved itself. However it is not doing it this time around

When printing the paper is not drawn down straight - pulls to one side - and then becomes jammed. This has happened over and over. Is there a wheel or something of track - can I fix this myself. Thanks...

There could be something that's blocking the paper feed system. Leading cause of paper jams is debris/foreign objects that accidentally fell into the paper feed area.

1. Remove the sheets of paper from the feeder.

2. Grab a flashlight and look inside for any debris.

3. If you're willing and physically able, you may also turn the printer over. Any debris should just freely roll out from the feeder.

4. If feeder is clear, place the printer back on the table, open the printer cover and remove the cartridges.

5. Check the cartridge area for any obstructions/debris that could cause this error or problem.

6. If cartridge area is clear, close the cover.

7. Unplug and re-plug the printer into the power outlet to reset it.

8. When the printer turns on, reinsert the cartridges and load some paper. Try to print again.

It started getting jammed recently quite often and generally happens when the paper tray isn't full. It usually either gets jammed near the tray or in the back.

i take it that you getting mutiple different jams and pretty often correct? these printer use a paper size select pcb when these start to go bad the paper size can be change every time you close the drawer or every other page you print. print your network page and see if it prints as big as the page if its smaller the printer thinks it has smaller paper if the lower black line of the box around this page is missing it thinks it should have longer paper. this board is located behind the metel box the logic board is mounted in. for cheaper prices, instruction and support for your lexmark lasers go to L-tech4u.com write an email if you dont see what you need listed they will have it

Lexmark x6575 printer error message clear paper jam

Success and relief at last!

Thanks to Dinky on another web site who had the same problem with his Lexmark X6575 printer (a similar printer). The resolution of the problem once I had read Dinky's explanation took less than 30 seconds!

Dinky's exact words on the issue are as follows:

" Dinky commented 5 months ago
Hooray!!!...after lots of hours trying to fix my printers 'Paper Jam' message, even tho' there was no paper jam in my lexmark x6575, but the message refused to go away...I have finally got it to work!!!...

WHAT I DID......
There is a long silver metal bar that the ink cartridges run along. Well just underneath this there is 8 little roller feet that sit on top of another silver/cream roller. Well in between these, in the very centre, you will see a little black plastic nib like thingy...While the machine is turned on, press this little black thingy (best to use a pen or something like, as it's small) and what should happen is the silver/cream roller will make a quick rolling motion....Hey! presto the 'jam message' disappears and the lcdmag-glass_10x10.gif screen should show set-up options (like date, time, ect).

I hope these instructions are clear enough to follow, and I also hope this solves that dreaded 'Paper Jam' message for you all....Good Luck!
Regards, Dinky "

Lexmark E 342 n paper jam with error code 201

According to the LexMark support page, this is most often related to not getting the print cartridge assembly properly positioned. (Left and right sides not fully in place). Another possible source is paper in the output tray when using the double sided printing feature. (This leads to grabbing an extra sheet when it tries to retrieve the paper to print the second side. Paper stock thickness will change the number of pages printed before this happens.).

I hope this helps.

Frequent jam in Lexmark E232

This can happen a lot if you're using very light weight paper.  Also, if the paper is not flat it can jam up too.  Best thing you can do is get yourself some higher quality paper and keep it in a air tight tub after you open it.

It seems you have some piece of paper in the carrier.
Could be just a very small piece somewhere in it... remove the cover and take a very close look. Check all rolls if they are loose or if something is locking them.
