Try to remove the cable ..open it up ..and even if it shows no signal..try to get into its menu and select reset to factory defaults..or something like that ..it might say reset monitor..
if you reset it with success than plug it again ..and see what happens..
the issue might be from the cable ..or the choice of the plug ...pay attention what plug you use..not to plug it on the main board(on board VGA )..and the tower to be equipped with a video card...if it has a video card than plug the cable into the video card ..cause the presence of this one will cancel the one on board ..and this is the reason that it do not react ..

Dell backlight indicators

A computer monitor has a front-mounted LED that displays its current status and flashes in the event of an error. When an error occurs, the flashing may be accompanied by an error message on the screen. If the screen does not display an error message, the problem most likely falls into one of four common categories.

Unsupported Display Mode A video card has the ability to send output to the monitor at many display resolutions and refresh rates. However, no single monitor is capable of supporting every possible display mode. When the video card sends an unsupported display mode to the monitor, the monitor shuts off to prevent damage and blinks, or displays an error message. Standby Mode b> When a monitor detects no video signal from the computer, it assumes that you have turned the computer off and enters standby mode to reduce power consumption. Dell and HP monitors display an amber light when in standby mode. The status light on an Apple monitor blinks slowly. Incorrect Power Supply Some monitors such as certain Apple Cinema and Studio displays use external power adapters. Because different power adapters may have similar connectors, these monitors are designed to detect when an incorrect power supply is connected and blink the status LED rather than attempting to turn on. In the case of an Apple display, the LED blinks in an alternating short and long pattern. b> Backlight Failure b> A flat panel LCD display has an LED or fluorescent backlight that illuminates the pixels and makes it possible to see the contents of the screen. If the backlight fails and requires replacement, the monitor is unable to display any information. In some cases, you may be able to resolve this issue by turning the monitor and computer off, disconnecting and reseating all cables. If the monitor still has a backlight issue, it requires professional service.

My monitor no display and light is blinking

Hi,
if the monitor light is blinking this suggests that, there is no display signal coming from the tower. This could be because of the following .

1. Bad video card 2. Bad video software

To check, where the problem is , power of the system tower and remove the power cord from the back of the tower. Press and hold the power buttoon for 10 seconds and the reconnect the power cord and turn the tower on. Check if there is any display or the status of the light changes from amber to green for even a small instance.

If the light changes to green and back to amber the video port on the tower is bad

Alternatively you can connect the monitor to another desktop or laptop to check if the same is working correctly.

Thanks for using fixya

Apple cinema flickers when warmed up

  1. Adjust the brightness setting. The brightness control (marked by ) is under the right front edge of the display.
  2. Calibrate the monitor using the Calibrate option in the Monitors control panel.
  3. The flickering could be caused by interference from a nearby power line, a fluorescent light, or an electrical device for example, a radio, a microwave oven, or another computer. Try relocating nearby electrical devices, or moving your computer and display.

Apple Cinema HD Display 30'' black screen, power light blinking

I don't know what might have happened, but a number of years ago I had an apple monitor and the power light on it started blinking, so I got in touch with apple and they told me that it's flashing an error code, so they told me what the blinking indicated and fixed it.

So I think the blinking of the power light on your monitor could be indicating an error code so I suggest you call apple and they will identify what the error is indicating.

Apple cinema display has interference

Check your DVI cable for breaks. If that's not the problem, then you'll need a new IP board. Not sure of the part number for this monitor, it's printed on the circuit board. It starts with 820-XXXX or 620-XXXX in some cases.

Apple 23 monitor 3 blinks and then pause, top screen is dim.

I have an older 20" display. I have had this same problem on occasion, and coincidentally, just experienced it again this morning. It seems to occur after I do an OS update. I powered down the computer, disconnected the display, reconnected by pushing firmly into place, then powered up. The flashing stopped and the display works fine. You might have a different problem, but that simple solution worked for me.

Hey - I just got done with 30 minutes of trying my cinema HD on my macbook pro and plugging and unplugging. When I plugged it into an extension cord in another socket the monitor started right up. I've had this configuration in my office for years with no problem...until today. Did mac send us a system upgrade that caused a problem with the monitor's power source???? Good luck!!!!
