Question about Lexmark Wheelwriter 3500 Typewriter
If this is just an occasional thing check to see if there is any build up on the platen lable goop ink etc. or possibly a split platen. You can try a new print wheel.

First change your typewheel they wear sometime to points. Second you could refinish or take it our and sand it down to get ride of the hard ridges on your platton (roller behind paper). third you could adjust the lever on top left moving platton back if it has one . fourth you could adjust the front rail down ( but be careful to get it straight across). fourth you could adjust the impression with 1 of 2 pots on the board usuly under keyboard.
