The coil should be located in the back right hand corner, since you have the front panel off, just lift the top and you will see the coil. it like a twisted coil and should have not breaks. Hope this helps tim

My whirlpool duet sport dryer control panel will turn on but nothing happens after that. thecontrols change and everything but no drum rotation, no heat. and every once in a while I get the f-01 error...

you have a blown fuse if you remove the front lower cover you will see a white long fuse about 2 inch long it is bad after you put the new one on it will work but you need to keep the front off and turn on the dryer and look at the heater and see if it is lighting up red all over if not the heater needs to be replace it is shorted out and that is what made the fuse blow

Where is the fuse to my stackable washer dryer (Frigidaire ) the fuse to the dryer side

you got few :
but 1st turn the main power off!!
open the 2 screws on the panel between the washer door to the main control panel(its diagonal panel)
in front of you there is a bid metal plate with few screws - open them all to get that panel out.
now you see few of your fuses on the pip of the air duct (on the bottom)
now the other fuses are on the heating element which is behind the main drum.
you can try to reach them by taking the roof out but if you cant you need to:
take the control panel out (4 screws , 2 each side (1 silver 1 small black))
take the door panel out (4 screw on top 2 screw bottom each side)
disconnect the door switch wire
now you can disconnect the belt and lift the drum and pull it out (2 man job)
you can see now the heating element and all other parts.
you can check which fuse burn and clean the whole machine from lint.
put it all back the way you took it and it the door panel heard to put(heavy) disconnect the door(4 screws on hinges) it will be light to pick it up now. :) good luck

I have a Maytag Epic MED9700SQ 6 months out of warranty. I was using it when it quit working. Now when I try to turn it on every thing seems to be working. No error messages it seems to be working, timer...

You have a blown thermal fuse.

Unplug the unit.
Remove the top panel(two bolts in the rear metric 10 or Phillips will work) There are four screws across the top front of the control panel remove those and the panel will swing out and down, move it back and forth while pulling upward it has plastic clips on the bottom that keep it in place.follow the wires from the panel to the control board and unplug them or you can just lay the whole panel on top of the unit.
Open the dryer door and remove the two phillips screws on either side at the bottom of the door opening, then remove the four screws across the top of the panel it will lean out toward you, unplug the door/light switch and lift the front panel off the bottom clips.
You're probably looking for the thermal fuse located in the plastic elbow of the blower housing at the bottom of the unit it will be the round metal disc with a brown or black plastic backing.check your vent going outside and make sure it is completely clear/open doesn't have to be spotless clean but if it gets restricted in any manner it will blow this fuse.

The drum that the clothes tumble in won't spin

Sounds like the belt has jumped off the pulley. Opening the dryer depends on what type it is.

First UNPLUG the unit.

Then, you will have to probably release two spring clips located inside the crevice between the top and front panels on the left and right sides. This will release the upper panel from the front, allowing you to tilt back the top, and see the drum. If you don't see a thin rubber belt going around the drum, it has broken. If you do, and it isn't shredded into thin strings, you can probably just get it back onto the tension pulley and be good to go.

To get it back on, unscrew the front panel from the sides with two screws located on the upper left and right sides. Then disconnect the door switch, and possibly two screws holding the door to the filter screen, and remove the front panel.

If you have a dryer with the filter screen inside the door at the bottom, there will be a vent in your way underneath. Remove that, and try to see if you can see what the belt is up to.

Getting it back on is a bit tricky, and somewhat difficult to describe here, but the "vvvvv" edge should interlock with the corresponding "VVVVV" grooved pulley on the motor, and the pulley on the springy arm needs to be stretched around so that it presses down on the flat side of the belt, and keeps the whole thing tight.

Post back if these don't quite make sense, as there are a number of different models of dryer that come apart differently. This is just how the most common models work.

Dryer no heating how do I get to the fuses and the heating elemet

using a wide flat screw driver pry the top up at the edges betwenn the main top and the front panel. Lay it down on it's back for this. Now look for your door switch wires and undo them. Now look inside the front panel toward the top and remove 2 attaching screws or hex screws. Lift panel at top and remove. Now undo 3 screws in middle of inside drum and pull drum out after un-doing belt. There you should find your heat element and all the thermostats and the thermal fuse should be labeled. If heat element is not broken then chances are your thermal fuse is bad replace it
