First off I would need the make and model of the laptop to give you the proper steps, if the mouse buttons themselves have been damaged most likely you will need to remove and replace them with new ones.
Thank you,
Lee

How to fix frozen Asus mouse?

Press and hold down the "Fn" key on the laptop keyboard; on most laptops, it is located between the "Ctrl" and "Alt" keys.

Press the "F9" key once, then release the "Fn" key.

This shortcut disables or enables the touchpad if you ever want to add a wireless or USB mouse

Ok well the left mouse key on my laptop which is a inspiron 1526 is jammed is there any way to fix it?

If it's truly stuck, you would need to replace the entire palmrest assembly, as the touchpad and buttons are integrated into it and are replaced as a unit.

This would just be the upper plastics, not including the keyboard and the hinge cover (area above the keyboard).

The left mouse key broke loose on my HP Pavilion dv6-1234dx

Easy fix, no. The fix is to replace the palmrest assembly. The required a large amount of dissassembly of the system.
Work around
Use a USB wireless mouse

Mouse cursor wont move

most laptops have a way to enable/disable the touchpad for those that use an external mouse or do alot of typing and encouter the overactive touchpad.

hold the "FN" key and press the corospinding function "f button" to enable it.

the function key number will be different depending on your laptop and you should also check the laptop base for a button that may be specifically for this purpose.

Good Luck and Happy Hunting!! :)

hey
please elaborate on what exactly has happened..
if by mouse pointer jammed u mean touchpad not working
then first check if it has been accidentally disabled, in acer laptops press fn and then a key in blue colour which looks like a mouse pad in the f1-f12 series.
else, try attaching an usb mouse to check if the pointer is moving or if there is a problem wid your touchpad.
if not, it could be because of a virus which has changed ur registry files, in such a case the problem gets a little more complicated where in ull have to restore file, etc etc
for further keep free to mail me @

Left mouse key "broken"/loose

Don't "buy a service manual." These are available from the manufacturer's website. It'll show you how to disassemble the laptop. You can get a cheap touchpad replacement on ebay for cheap.
You could always just switch the left and right touchpad button properties around so the right button is left clicking.
Or you could just get a cheap usb mouse.  You can find them online for less than $10.
