On the back remove the screws that are on a hinged like tab. Once they are off you can pfy each front corner up to remove the top. Once off unplug the electrical connectors from each other. Now place the top aside and remove the front panel screws. That shall come off easy
Now the drum can be pulled out

Inside the drum one of the tumblers is loose how do you tighten it up?

Hello,
You can tighten those baffles by getting to outside of drum to thighten the screws that hold them to drum. to get access to outside of drum;
Remove screws from door hinge

remove screws from other side of inside door as they are exaclty opposite the ones for hinges

pull off from panel by putting putty knife/screwdriver in seam between front panel/cabinet just below the sloped part of the top and pop off front panel

in the upper corners of the top/front panel is a clip that looks likea inverted "7" or if ya will a up side down "L" remove screws from the clips and remove the clip

now ya can raise top to get to outside of drum

rotate drum by hand in CLOCKWISE direction to turn drum so ya can get to each baffle

Thanks for using FixYa.com,

Fin that tumbles clothing inside dryer coming loose, how can I tighten it?

These fins are usually screwed on from the outside of the drum. If you're up to it this is a simple but time consuming fix. Take the cabinet off the front of the dryer, the top will come off as well. be careful of the wires from the control console, they will stay attached to the dryer. Tighten the tumbler fins on the drum and then re-assemble the cabinet. Typically the screws you need to access are the same used for the door latch and hinges. They go back together easy ........

How to repair paddle inside drum paddle that fell off

To replace this "paddle" (It's callde a baffle), you'll need to access the outside of the tumbler (drum), by lifting the top.

Begin by removing the door. Remove the two hinge screws. You will then be able to rock the door and hinge out of the slot in the front panel. Next, remove the cover plates just opposite the hinges.

Now you can pull the front panel off the retaining clips and rock it downward, away from the rest of the cabinet. Once it clears the top, you can lift it off the bottom hooks. Just set it aside.

You will now see two screws (hex-head, 5/16 inch), just under the corners of the dryer top. Remove them and rotate the brackets that hook into the top. Removing the brackets will allow you to now swing the top upwards to expose the tumbler.

Just turn the tumbler until you can see the screw holes for the babble holding screws. You may get lucky and find the three baffle screws in the bottom of the cabinet. Re-install, check the others, and re-assemble the dryer in reverse order, and you're done!

Inside the drum, one of the metal things is loose. It appears that it is held on with screws, so they are probably loose. Could you tell me teh easiest way to access the outside of the drum so I can...

The top cover needs to be lifted to the rear of the dryer to access the outside of the drum and tighten the baffle screws. But before the top cove can be lifted, the front panel must be removed first. Disconnect power to the dryer prior to servicing to avoid the risk of electric shock.

Open the dryer door and remove the four screws located vertically along the inside lip of the door opening. These screws hold the front panel to the front shroud assembly.

Once the four screws are removed, grasp and press in on the upper edges of the front panel posts then twist it inward to release the clips holding it to the cabinet. Tilt the top of the front panel and move it away from the dryer.

The top cover is held on each side of the cabinet by two hold down brackets. Locate and remove the 5/16" hex-head screws holding each bracket then swing the bracket to the outside and unhook it from the slot in the top panel lip.

Open the door then lift the front of the top panel and tilt it toward the rear of the dryer.

Rotate the drum until the baffle screws are on top to tighten it. Reinstall the top panel and the front panel by following the removal steps in reverse order.

How to I get to the drum? The fins in the drom have come unscrewed and fallen off. I need to get to the outside of the drum and screw them back on.

Access to the outside of the drum requires the removal of the front then the top panel. Disconnect power to the dryer prior to servicing to avoid the risk of electric shock.

Open the door and remove the four screws located vertically along the inside lip of the door opening. These screws hold the front panel to the front shroud assembly.

Once the four screws are removed, grasp and press in on the upper edges of the front panel posts then twist it inward to release the clips holding it to the cabinet. Tilt the top of the front panel and move it away from the dryer.

Open the door then lift the front of the top panel and tilt it toward the rear of the dryer.

Rotate the drum until the screw holes appear at the top of the drum and screw the baffles back into position.

Reinstall the top panel and the front panel by following the removal steps in reverse order.

How do I access the drum to tighten the dryer fins

Disconnect power to the dryer !!! Remove the 2 screws holding the door hinges on and remove the 2 screws opposite the door hinges . This will let you pull the top of the front panel outward and lift off the bottom clips . If you have enough room , slide your arm thru the front opening to tighten the screws . Otherwise , remove the 2 screws holding the clips for the top , 1 on each side , and lift the top , to get better access to the screws .

How do I change my dryer belt on 1994 MAYTAG dryer?

Assuming this is stand alone front loading dryer, to replace the belt, you access the drum from both the back service access panel and the top. Pop the top at the front corners and it will hinge up at the back.

Reply back with the make and model number of your specific dryer and I can help you more.

DRYER FIN IN DRUM IS COMING LOOSE

Unplug the dryer, remove the door hinge screws that go into the cabinet and the two screws on the opposite side of the door opening, then the front panel can be removedby starting at the top. Once the front is off, there are two screws, one to each side that hold the top on, remove these and raise the top. You can rotate the drum by hand and the baffles are held on by the screws on the outside of the drum. Reassemble in reverse order.

ALL service is perfromed from the FRONT. Shock Hazard Warning! Open the dryer door aand remove the screws that hold the door hinges, remove the door, and on the opposite side that have just 2 screws where the door would attach if it was converted to the oppsite opening direction, and remove the front panel. Remove the front bulkhead,(the internal drum opening panel), by removing the 4-5/16" screws that hold it to the outer side panels. Reach back to the rear of the motor and release the tension on the idler and drum belt. Remove the belt and lift drum slightly upward and remove from the unit. You should then observe 2 rollers about 3" in diameter positioned at about 5 and 7 o'clock. The roller at the 5 o'clock position is most likely bound up or not free-rolling. TRU-ARC spring clips,(you may need to purchase), retain the rollers on the shaft and need to be carefully removed and saved for reaasembly. Inspect roller at 7 o'clock for free operation. Purchase what you need and reassemble.

Hope this helps!
