Invariably all batteries have a number on them.All watch battery stockists have "equivalence lists" so that irrespective of brand of battery a "generic" battery of the same dimensions - diameter and thickness ( and voltage) can be found from a "stocked:"range.e.g.a battery that is 6.8mm diam and 2.6mm thick is variously known as a SR626SW, SB-AW, 280-39, RW329 or a 606 or a D377 - dependng on the "brand" of battery - It's common name is a 377 battery - and it will fit in - and work
