I just bought a used Excell VR2522. The guy I bought it from said that it worked great (of course). I did have him demonstrate it to me and it seemed to work fine. The motor started right up and the pressure seemed great. I got it home and started my project. The first issue I had was that it lost pressure afetr about 20 minutes of use. The next time I tried to use it, it was very difficult to start (resistance on the pull cord) I eventually got it started and it seemed to be working fine for about 20 minutes again and then while spraying, the motor cut out. I noticed the resistance on the pull cord again. I disconnected the water supply and immediately it was easy to pull and started right up. I also noticed while the water supply was connected that it was leaking under the unit. Bad pump or something else? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I have the same unit. Work great when you get the hang of it. First thing is to COMPLETELY purge air from the system or you will get a weak spray. Trick there is to let the water run thru the system with the wand trigger on BEFORE starting the engine. Let the water run a good 10 or more minutes. Once the engine stops after it warms up, it will be hard to start again because of internal water pressure. Open the wand trigger again (wedge something in the handle to keep it open) while you yank the pull cord - but keep your foot on it because once it starts - watch out you are in high pressure mode. And finally, just because you have water dripping from below has nothing to do with the pump - you probably just have a small leak at the hose connection. One other thing - these pumps are supposedly go bad due to overheating after maybe 30 hours of use. Mine did. Just flat out busted after a two hour wash. Tried a replacement engine but busted that trying to install. Back to Home Depot for me.

How to replace wheels on Excell VR2522 pressure washer

Anon, The wheel is probably held on by a push nut/cap. The easy way to remove is to cut through the cap retainer with a dremel tool part way and pry off with screw driver, these caps are not normally reusable after removal, check hardware store for replacement.
Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

Excell vr2522 pull cord jammed

Is the garden hose connected and turned on?If so make sure that the trigger on the gun is being pulled while your trying to start the engine! The backed up pressure in the high pressure hose can mimic a blown or seized engine in this situation.

Excell r 2522 presure washer pump rebuild

I like http://www.ppe-pressure-washer-parts.com/excell-vr2522-replacement-parts-pump See pump upgrade and compare to rebuilding. Another good site is www.pressure-washer-parts.com. Piston seals usual begin by overheating from excessive idling. You might add a thermostatic relief valve to help this.

Excell VR2522 Pressure washer - sudden loss in pressure.

Leaving the engine running for more than two minutes without releasing pressure trigger causes aluminum pump to overheat and causing damage to the purmp, resulting in sudden low pressure. (see page 9 in manual)

No pump pressure

Sounds like the diaphragm in the pump unit has failed, the engine and the pump are two seperate things the engine only operates the pump but if the diaphragm is leaking or broken you wont get any pressure
