Question about Office Equipment & Supplies

1 Answer

I have a cx6400 Inkjet printer. I just received an printer error message that there are parts inside my printer that are at the end of their service life, see printer documentation. The documentation does not mention anything about this type of error message. What do I do now? What do I even look for. I purchased this in February 2004. Thanks in advanced for your assistance

This is normally a Maintenance Request Error. The maintenance request error is actually a Waste Ink Ink Pad Error

usually your remedy is:

1. Replace the Waste Ink Pad/Pads with a new one/ones (many people ignore this one, and they just follow #2)
2) Reset the Internal Waste Ink Pad Counter by using this utility

When I turn on my Epson stylus CX6400, it has the message "error-Printer error-See your documentation and call service if necessary." The only thing the documentation manual says about this error is to...

Do you have any other indicators such as flashing lights or similar?

My guess is that it MIGHT be a "service required" error meaning the waste pads are full in which case this guide may help..

There's a reset sequence you can follow near the end of the article which I'd try... If that solves it then you'll need to deal with the waste pads.. If not, you'll know it's something else and can report back..

I have a error on my epson cx6400 and don't

Hi,

the best way to solve the problem is to replace the printheads or
Turn the printer on and pull the plug when it starts its initialization process. Can you move the carriage by hand at this point? If not, sounds like you may have a carriage motor\belt issue.

or clear the error message.

Thanks,

Was changing cartridge and the printer stopped at the charge step. Now all I get is 'printer error.

try to install and reinstall the ink cartridges, unplug and replug the power cable then try again.

if it still persist check if there is a pop up message on your computer that should say parts inside your printer is at the end of its service life...... then you go to the website www.epson.com/ipr which should pertain to the ink pad reset counter which needs to be reset

I have an Epson CX6400 which gives the message "Parts inside your printer are at the end of their service life. See your printer documentation." Is there going to be a cheap way to see what is wrong and if...

The message refers to the ink pads, which are actually a number of porous pads in the printer that collect, distribute, and very importantly contain the ink that is not used on printed pages. Ink is collected by these pads during the initial setup of the product, during cleaning cycles and when printing borderless photographs. Most users will not receive this message before the printer is replaced for other reasons. Some high volume users or those who use the printer for many years may receive this message about ink pads before other components reach the end of their usable life.

You can also reset the counters on the Epson to allow you to continue printing by downloading a service utility at the following link

If that's the only error message that you are receiving, I would recommend removing and re-installing the printer software.

Epson stylus cv6400 error message "parts inside printer are at end of their service life.see your printer documentation."what does this mean? thanks in advance.....

The printer has an end of life service, meaning it has printed its last print on paper.. you have to get it reset from a technician or if you are savy enough you can download this resetter and do the reset yourself.
