You will have to remove the front panel. screws are on the inside of the door, may be two on the bottom corners, with a flat tip screw drive gently pry up on the top corners. remove panel disconnect door switch, the belt goes around the drum to the motor and has rollers on the back of the drum. I even think on the backside there is a rest button. Hope this helps Tim

Dryer just stopped wont turn

More than likely a broken belt. A fairly easy fix. Disconnect Dryer electric by shutting off the breaker. Then remove the front panel that surrounds the door. There are ususally a couple of screws on the bottom and you have to pot the top. Get a belt off the net or from a appliance dealer. The belt slips around the drum over the motor shaft and on a tension Idler wheel. Pop is back together and you good to go. Try checking You Tube and see if there is a video on dryer belt replacement. Good luck! :)

the drive motor if its not turning then the drum wont turn, also if its sliped the belt off thats another reson why and one more thing to look at is how tight is the belt on the drum,,, is it just sliping round it? is the drum very tight to turn by hand? are the drum bearings jamed up, is any thing stuck behind the drum? ??? like one of the kid's?

The dryer will not turn on. Timer is ticking I think it may be the start button

Could be the start button, but also could be a broken drum belt or the belt maybe has slipped off the motor pulley or idle arm pulley. Also could be a bad motor. Check to see if the motor is turning first and the belt is on properly.

Removing the back of the dryer

to get at belt you will need to get true the front of dryer. When you have top up there should be 2 screws on both inside corners on front panel remove them and lift up and towards you the front panel should come off. After that look under drum .Sounds like your belt sliped off the idler pully you can then put belt back on and reverse the steps. If any more help needed feel free to ask hope i fixya:)

dryer won't run, but hot air blow and humming when turned on
Belt is off, idler is off or broken. Replace the belt and idler. Make sure it is installed correctly with tension on the belt. It will take care of your problem

When I try and start my ge dbb3300eaoww dryer it buzzes as if it wants to start if I spin it with my hand it will work. I put a new belt on it and it does the same thing.
Motor start switch is bad. This is typically replaceable with out replacing the motor.
Will take care of the problem.

My drum will sometimes stop turning in the middle of a cycle, and the motor just hums. I pause the dryer, open the door, rotate the drum, unplug and plug the electrical, and then it will usually complete the cycle. Does that mean the belt is "occasionally" slipping? How do I check this?
Replace the belt. It has stretched to the point it no longer can carry the load. Should consider replacing the idler at the same time. This will take care of the problem.
