Flip the "Hold" switch that's on either one of the sides
or the top of the MP3 player to "OFF." Press "Play" or any other button
to try to unfreeze the player.
Leave the MP3 player on in its
frozen state until the player's battery completely dies. Depending on
the amount of life left on the battery, this could take several hours.
the MP3 player (using the universal serial bus or USB cord) to an MP3
charger or a computer. Turn the computer on. Leave the MP3 player
charging for 30 minutes to 1 hour.
Connect the MP3 player to a
computer using the USB cord. Open the software media program that syncs
with that particular MP3 player. Then, click on the "Sync Player" or
"Sync" link or tab, depending on the program you're using. Wait ten
seconds, and then try to use the MP3 player. Disconnect the player from
the computer if it's still frozen.
Press "Reset" on the MP3
player. Depending on the MP3 player you own, the button may be easy to
find or incredibly small. With tiny buttons, a tack, needle or similar
item is needed for pushing. Press and hold the "Reset" button for
approximately seven to ten seconds. The player should unfreeze and
reset. Some data, such as music, may be removed from the MP3 player
during this process.
Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.
I have the sleek photo and mine bugged out. It would go to
the splash screen and then go blank and just sit there. Nothing would
respond. I tried reset, reboot and other things too. My pc
also would not recognize the player. To make a long story short, I
tried other suggestions I found on the web. They didn't work and my
player would now only go to a garbled splash screen and go right to the
I had the new firmware, but I couldn't
use it because the pc wouldn't detect the goofy player. Then I ran
across a site that mentioned that Windows Media Player can cause player
recognition problems. I removed both WMP (mine was 11) and WMP runtime
using the add/remove programs option on the control panel. I restarted
the pc and BAM! the player was now recognized. I ran the new firmware
application and the player works fine now. The key for me was getting
rid of WMP and the WMP runtime.
My MuVo was having problems until I installed the latest firmware.
The last firmware release was in March 2007. If you haven't updated the
player's firmware since then, try downloading it and installing Creative MuVo V200 Firmware 1.13.03.
Firmware is on the ram, have you tried another usb port? another computer? and another usb cord. I know mine i have to use my laptop since my pc wont see it. if those don't work you might have a broke usb connection or cord.
