Question about Refrigerators
If the compressor buzzing then
1) The compressor runs by start up capacitor. On some side by side models there is start up motor instead of capacitor.both functions the same.the motor or capacitor. If this fails the compressor will not run or will start to kick on.
2) The other possibility is relay. There is relay beside the compressor. If this relay is faulty then it will not let the compressor to function properly.
3) The other possibility is fan beside the compressor. If this fan is running slow then it will make the compressor go hot and get short faulty.
4) The other cause can be faulty compressor itself.
The problem which you mentioned" frigidaire side by side warm and everything melted" ,this all relates to faulty compressor. But compressor supporting motor, capacitor, relay, fan and its connections needs to be checked first by meter. If all checks out ok and working then yes its faulty compressor and that needs to be replaced.
