HERE is the driver for your Ethernet card directly from dell. This one is for windows XP. go HERE if you have a different Operating System ans select the correct one. After you select your operating system it should be the only download with the description of "driver" on the list under the networking section.

Well that is a problem. You can go to "support.dell.com" to download the drivers, however since you can't connect to the internet you will need to use a friends computer and download it.

it should be available on the dell website, you may have to look it up by model and serial number and know what operating system you use.

see if this is the right driver-

Have you tried restoring your operating system? If not, please do so. There is a problem with operating system and the driver of your ethernet hardware. There might be a conflict on it.

Have a Dell Dimension 4600C Desktop. It no longer recognizes the ethernet cord when it is pulled in. The cords are fine. Even tried new ones. Think that the network adapter connector on the computer is bad...

More than likely it is your ethernet card that is bad. It will be easier to buy an ethernet card and install. The procedure is not hard. You will need to open your computer and sit the card in one of the open slots toward the back of the computer.
