Question about Mad Dog Multimedia Computers & Internet

1 Answer

I put a floppy disk into my Mad Dog Multimedia device and the green light came on and the whirring sound began and then finished but nothing appeared on my desktop to indicate that the disk was loaded. How do I find the material that I just loaded?

Have you tried another disc?
If you have a spare disc and after formatting, you fill it with data,
check the output. If it's read, then the problem is with your original disc.

I have a Mad Dog Mulltimedia external usb floppy dsrive. It does not work on my windows 7 computer. Can you help me find a driver or whatever I need? Virginia Wilbur

Mad Dog is, unfortunately, out of business by all indications and there is no support available from them. I suspect that Windows 7 will not have a driver that is compatible with the enclosure's interface. Depending upon what brand/model of actual hard drive is inside the enclosure (Western Digital, Seagate, whatever) you may be able to dismantle the enclosure, remove the actual disk drive, and use it in another enclosure with an up-to-date interface. That is only a suggestion...it would require a certain amount of mechanical expertise and a good phillips screwdriver ;-)

My Mad Dog external hard drive does not show up as a drive. How do I get this to show so I can access my information.

Connect it to a different computer, to see if the device is working at all.

If not, and if the Mad Dog is still under warranty, then exercise the warranty to get it repaired/replaced.

Otherwise, disassemble the casing, remove the disk-drive,
and connect the disk-drive as a "slave" disk-drive in a desktop computer, to see if the disk-drive is OK. This would imply that the USB-to-disk-drive interface inside the casing is the problem.

I try to burn DVD in my Mad Dog model ME-325X and I had messege said error. I'm using Nero 9

Hi There,
Try using PowerDVD for windows or RealPlayer Plus. Am sure it would work better. Your operating system also matters alot. Use Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox.

I am trying to transfer photos and data from 3.5 disk to cd's and memory cards but when I insert a disk it is telling me that the disk is not formatted and ask me if I want to format now. I know these disk...

You can't retrieve data from those disks on whatever computer you're using it on. It apparently doesn't support the same format that you used save the data to the disks initially. I don't know what you can do, other than just trying the disks on any computer you can find that has a floppy disk drive until something works. Personally, I absolutely hate all the formats there are for removable disks. I have problems just like that with CDs all the time.
Well, good luck.

Icon not appearing on drives list

Did you use the Safely Remove Hardware icon to disconnect your floppy drive? Did you subsequently connect the drive to a different USB port? If both answers are YES, then simply reconnect the drive to the same port and it should work.
If that fails, reboot your machine and try again. USB ports are finicky if you don't follow proper protocol.
Good luck!
