IPhone Freeze - Panic: We are hanging here

My iphone has frozen in the boot script, showing the message Panic: We are hanging here.

It is possible to identify it is a Kernel problem.

Do you think is it possible to fix? Any suggestion?

try this simple steps to recover your iphone:

-- Turn off your iPhone by holding the "Sleep/Wake" button for about five seconds and then sliding the red slider.
-- If your iPhone is already off, there's no need to turn it on and then off again.
-- Once it's turned off, press and hold the "Home" button and plug the iPhone into your Mac or PC.
-- Keep holding the "Home" button until you see a yellow triangle and text which says "Please Connect to iTunes".
-- New iPhones will show a dock cable next to the iTunes icon.
-- You can now release the button.

-- Open iTunes (if it's not already open) and you will be told that "iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode".
-- Click "OK" and you will be taken to the iPhone pane. --
-- Click restore and you're done.

Depending on the extent of your iPhone's ills, it may take some time to do a full restore. Once you're done, however, you should again have a perfectly working iPhone.

That doesn't fix the problem, I have put my iPhone into DFU mode and restored many times but after a while the phone crashes and once in a while the debug message shows up when trying to restart

User fault not kernel panic upload mode

From the Samsung GT-S5300 user manual -

Your device freezes or has fatal errors

If your device freezes or hangs, you may need to close applications or reset the device to regain functionality. If your device is still responsive and an application is frozen, close the application with the task manager. If your device is frozen and unresponsive, press and hold the Power key for 8-10 seconds. If this problem persists, perform a factory data reset. In the application list, select Settings ? Privacy ? Factory data reset ? Reset phone ? Erase everything.

One simple suggestion to disregard hardware problems, use a live CD/DVD (ubuntu or any linux distro). if everything ok then the present installation is corrupted. did you have a chance to boot into safemode (usually second option)

My iPhone 4 can't boot (Kernel panic). I replaced the dock cable because the iPhone didn't charge. Could this be a hardware problem?

Usually software but hardware failure can also cause it.

Outlined in the User Guide are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new device. If none of these work you will need to have it serviced.

If it was hardware, it's mostly unfixable and hopefully it's under warranty.

I doubt replacing the dock cable caused a kernal.

Sir i have amd sempron processor tm-1200 & i have dual os xp & linux as so many problem were found (hang,dump,disk failure) plz do suggestion need full.........{this is support linux?}

I take it you are getting panic traps, this happens when the kernel gets unstable with linux. Solution is one or two things, it could be generated from either drive failure or system board problems. From the root # type in dmesg and it may show you the error messages. Post the message and I may be able to help you further.

I mac g4 kernel panic cant boot from CD to format . got kernel panic after security update. No Driver for this platform

This message indicates that the CD you are attempting to boot from is a release of the Mac OS which is incompatible with this model of Macintosh. I would recommend a retail disk of Tiger or Panther for this vintage Mac.

Kernal panic alert screen will not respond

Well, if you erase the wrong files, you'll sure get a kernel panic.
To power down your PowerBook when there is a kernel panic on the screen (or any frozen state) you have to hold the power button for 10-15 seconds until the Mac shuts off. Then you can restart it.
If you deleted too many of the wrong files, it may not restart to your satisfaction. :-(

Error 1604 and Kernel Panic

confirm that your firmware is compatable with your iphone.
if you have a 2G the firmware should start with 1.1 if you have a 3G the firmware should start with 1.2
apparently unlocked or jailbroken phones with the wrong firmware will brick in this manner.
not to worry, your not the only one.
do a web search for error 1604 and you will see solutions such as this below.

  • Problem: I cant restore my custom firmware. I just get error 6, 1, 2, (something low).
Solution: This has multiple causes. Generally, you are not in DFU mode. See DFU guide. Winpwn solution after ruling out the above: Delete the device file (x12220000_4_Recovery.ipsw) in your iTunes folder. (Search for the file). This can also be caused by using the incorrect firmware image (a 3g on a 2g for example).
  • Problem: I am in DFU mode and I just get error 1604, 1602, 1601 (some 160x). I am pulling my hair out! What do I do?!
Solution: This one sucks. There’s no single answer for it. Here are some possible suggestions:
    • Validate you are using the correct firmware. You can get this if you are using an incompatible firmware (3g for 2g for example).
    • Restart your computer and try again.
    • Try another computer
    • Try switching USB ports
    • Uninstall and reinstall iTunes 7.7
If you are not able to get out of DFU mode even after trying one of the above fixes, click here to follow the comments on BigBoss’s website.

Kernel panic

Yes, your hard drive is fine from the stand point that there are no surface damage or bad clusters. What ever system you loaded on the hard drive has to be reinstalled. Good Luck.
