System error 0B000D 00000005

Hi, I believe this error occurs when there is no 24 volt supply to the PCB. Go back and check you have plugged all the connectors back in correctly.

What does system error 0b000d 0000001b mean on my hp 1050c

sounds like the service station siezed and the control circuit to the motor has burned out- common fault for this machine- unfortunately this means its cheaper to buy a new machine than it is to repair- sorry

Got the same problem. It makes a jerking sound when the carriage moves and pass the middle.

When the carriage is moving somewhere in the print area, pull the power cord and stop the carriage where you can reach it. Open the front cover and manually move the carriage through its range of motion. If there is an obstruction causing the noise, determine what that is and correct it.

If there are rubber crumbs under the carriage belt, the belt is disintegrating. This happens after 6 million cycles or 5 years with the OEM belts. New belts are available at

Check to make sure that the front top of the L bracket that shields the ink tubes on the carriage is not rubbing against the inside top front metal edge that is just behind the clear plastic cover. And make sure your rails are cleaned and then oiled with NYE oil. There is a problem with the design of this machine, where there is a bracket on the top of the carriage assembly that pushes the ink tubes towards the inside front of the machine causing unneccesary rubbing.

Error code showing on my HP 1050c plotter

The error stands for : 24V source test failure.

And i'm sorry to say but the service manual then tells you to try the following:

- Replace the scan-axis motor assembly.
- Replace the paper-axis motor assembly.
- Replace the service station assembly.
- Replace the main pca.
- Replace the ISS pca.
- Replace the power supply unit.
- Replace the electronics module.

(only replace one component at a time)

Yeah then you have to guess which part to start with.

Maybe anybody else on this forum knows more about the error and has a better idee about the part you should start with.

Just take a good look at the machine, and check which sections of the start up works before the error is prompted.

e.g. If the carriage moves then you could say that the scan-axis motor is probably ok.

Good luck....

I have a HP DJ 1050c, the check Printhead path (2) comes on, but there is nothing blocking, and when I try to move the assembly, it is very rigid, when running the self test, the assembly moves back and...

you need to replace the belt assembly. the jerking motion is caused by the build up of debris on the teeth of the drive motor. drive motor on the right side, belt and tensioner on left side. this is a difficult repair and it is getting harder to find the parts. if you can find a certified repair person, let them do the repair. should cost you $300-400. if they are worth a dime it should take less than two hours to perform this repair. make sure they clean the drive motor, replace the belt, clean the printer, lubricate the rail assembly. let me know if this helps.

Cutter Problem

the cutter has that bushing attached to act as a tire as it travels across the scan axis, these infrequently wear out and cause the carriage to basically drag the blade behind causing your uneven cut pattern, the cutter must be replaced. If you need direction on how to do so please contact me
