Question about Ducane Affinity 4200

This is the first time using this grill. Do I just light 1 burner to start and then do I have to user the igniter switch to light the other burners or will they light from the first one just by turning them on?

Hi,
You can do it either way...once you have one lit the others will light from that one or you can push the ignitor to make sure but it really does not matter either way...

Can not get two burners to light

Before you do anything else, take a pipe cleaner or a special brush on a flexible shaft that they sell in home stores and clean out the venturi tubes on all burners. Tiny spiders like to build nests in these tubes which can keep burners from working even when you try to start them with a handheld lighter. That can be dangerous, because it will build up the level of gas in the grill.

If that doesn't solve your problem, and your grill has electronic ignition with only one igniter for all the burners, then the transfer channel at the back of the burners is blocked with soot or corroded, and the flame from the burner with the igniter can't travel to the others. Clean or repair the channel.

Some grills have an igniter on each burner. In that case the burners that don't light may have broken or blocked igniters that you'll have to replace or clean. In the meantime, use one of those butane fireplace lighters to light the balky burners.

Troubleshooting nexgrill charcoal gas grill

did you replace the battery in the igniter?
less than 100 degrees indicates a safety has engaged, close gas valve, open burner valves.....wait 5 minutes. keep lid open, close burner valves, open gas valve until you hear the regulator click
turn on "ignition burner" and ignite (with switch or at specified port).
After this part is lit open other burners one at a time , waiting until each lights before opening the next.

Why won't my Weber grill ignite after installing a

Disclaimer- be careful when working with gas. Starters in gas grills are just about novelty anymore. Often, they only light 1/3rd or 1/4th of the burners and they usually stop working within one grilling season. I recommend using a wand lighter. Try to light just one burner but if doesn't light in 5 to 7 seconds, turn the gas off and wait to try again. Incidentally, you are turning the gas on at the tank, right? You should hear it when you turn the burner on.

We just put together our Genesis E320 LP Grill. The ignitor is not igniting the far right side of the grill. It does ignite the first two knobs and the side burner. What is going on?

I have a new EP320 and my instructions specify that the ignitor lights Burner #1 and the other grill burners light off of that - Burner #2 second - Burner #3 lights last off of Burner #2.

Our grill was assembled 1 year ago by home depot. we have used it 5 times since. the first two times it seemed to work perfectly. since it only incompletely heats and has a gurgling sound in the burner...

Turn on the burner that lights with the ignition, watch as the other burners come on, if the flame gets lower as each burner comes on, you probably need to replace the hose and regulator.

Own a charmglow gas grill 3 burner, having trouble igniting burners will not ignite, how do you match start

I have used those long-necked lighters as a temporary thing. You can buy replacement igniter kits at Lowe's/HomeDepot/similar, and they are easy to use. I hate to admit it, but I have taken the igniter out of the side burner that is attached to the grill and used it, until I bought a replaement. Match starting is a less than favorable option, as you are putting your hands and face in a bad place, but if you just have to do it, remove the grill grate over the burner that you intend to light. Get your fire source to the burner, and turn the gas on low. If the burner doesn't light pretty quickly, remove the fire source, shut off tha gas and wait several minutes with the lid still up for the gas to dissipate. You don't want to be trying to light the grill and have it flash on you. Most grills have an opening at the rear if the grill for manual lighting. Even so, the long lighters are waaaaaay better than the old kitchen match. I'm sure that you know, but always have the lid open when lighting the grill. (I just had to say it!)
Hope that this helps...really!
Best regards, --W/D-- please feel free to rete this solution! Thanx!

Problem with gas getting to the front burner

Follow manufacturer's recommendation in resetting the excess flow safety device....(Turn burners and LP cylinder off...Disconnect regulator on cylinder. Turn both knobs to high for at least one minute...Then turn them to off...reconnect the regulator to the LP tank...Turn LP valve VERY slowly (30 seconds) until fully opened..then start the grill in the usual manner. ALWAYS TURN THE LP TANK OFF WHEN DONE USING THE GRILL....

OVEN WON'T STAY LITE MOST OF TIME & DOESN'T HEAT WELL:

Most problems with gas ranges have to do with the flame—either it isn't quite right or it's nonexistent. Many new gas ranges have "electronic ignition," a spark igniter that starts the flame as gas flows through the burners f, when you turn on a burner, it fails to spark but you hear sparking at other burners, the igniter or the burner switch probably needs replacement by an appliance repairperson. If your range has a pilot light, be sure the pilot light is lit.

have nice time..!! arte the solution!!

Since 1995 all regulators (the part that attaches to the gas tank to regulate the flow of gas) have included a safety device that restricts the flow of gas in the event of a gas leak. This safety device can be inadvertently activated in two ways, putting the grill into what is commonly called “bypass”. The first way for the device to be activated is to leave one or more burner control knobs in the “ON” position when the LP cylinder valve is opened. The second is not to wait long enough to “start” the grill after opening the LP cylinder valve. The safety device in the regulator is activated each time that the LP cylinder valve is opened. The device resets itself when the gas pressure equalizes between the closed burner control valve and the regulator, through the hose. If a burner control knob is turned on before the gas pressure can equalize, the device will remain in “bypass”. The length of time necessary to wait to “start” the grill after turning on the LP cylinder valve is dependent on the length of the hose and outside air temperature. It is always good practice to wait a few seconds after opening the LP cylinder valve before turning on the burner control knob to start the grill.
Keep in mind that the safety device reacts to a gas leak. If a grill is in bypass, the gas connections and hose should be tested for leaks with a soap and water solution.
If the grill is in bypass, after checking for gas leaks do the following to get the grill out of bypass:
To reset the gas safety device:
Open the barbecue lid.
1. Close the LP tank valve.
2. Turn your burner control knob to the OFF position.
3. Wait at least 5 minutes if the barbecue had been lit, then
4. Disconnect the hose from the LP tank.
5. Turn your burner control knob to the HIGH position.
6. Wait at least 2 minutes, and then turn the burner control knob to the OFF position.
7. Re-connect the hose to the LP tank.
Re-lighting the barbecue:
1. Open the barbecue lid.
2. SLOWLY open the LP tank valve all the way and wait 1 minute.
3. With the lid open, turn the burner control knob to the HIGH position.
4. Ignite the grill by pushing the crossover ignition button.
5. Close the barbecue lid.
6. The barbecue should reach 500 to 550 degrees in 10-15 minutes.
When you are done grilling:
1. Turn all burner control knobs to the OFF position
2. Turn off the LP tank valve last.
* Always follow the re-lighting instructions whenever you use the adapter hose and larger tank.
