Question about Intermatic T10404R - Two 220 time clocks in raintight box

1 Answer

The pump stopped working today. There is power to the pump and the circuits did not shut down. I think the clock could be bad. It has not moved so I feel the problem is the clock. the pump is new.

Your answer is not correct. I of course put the manuel lever to the on position and that is where it was when the pump stopped. I did determine the motor for the timer was not working. But if the little motor on the timer is not working it stops the power completely and when you move the power switch to manuel it won't turn anything on, because there is no power going thru the timer. You need to brush up on your subject. If the little motor that runs the timer is not working power can not go thru the system and so you can't get the pump to turn on. I did get the motor to start running again, and I don't know how I did this, but when the motor runs then power can go thru the system and it works. I think I will need to replace the motor most likely. I don't know why it stopped and I don"t know why I got it to run again.
    Thanks for your attempt. DD

If you move the manual lever to the ON position the pump should turn ON. If the pump turns ON manually and the clock is not moving as you say, then, yes, the clock timer motor is bad.

"Your answer is not correct. I of course put the manuel lever to the on position and that is where it was when the pump stopped."

Then you should check the connections inside the timer and at the pump motor.

The timer motor is connected in parallel with the pump motor on terminals #1 and #3. These should be the first connections to check. Also you should check the connections at the circuit breaker. With the manual lever in the ON position, the timer motor has _nothing_ to do with whether the pump motor works or not.

Well, you won't be doing yourself any justice unless you check all the connections from the circuit breaker up to and including the pump motor.

There is one other possible thing to consider. If the pump motor is connected to the timer on the right of the unit, then a faulty timer motor on the left timer of the unit would cause the symptoms you describe. Both manual levers will have to be in the ON position for the pump motor to work if the clock timer motor on the left side is faulty.

99% chance the Timer wires are reversed ... and line from breaker and line to pump are reversed. Or remotely possibly the circuit is 240V, and somebody changed clock motor on old T101 from WG1570 to WG1573, converting old T101 into T102...

My Intermatic T101 has power going to it and the clock works normally. But when the clock trips the switching lever to ON or I manually turn it to on, it does not put out power. Is there any sort of fuse...

There is no fuse inside the T101.
If timer clock motor is working correctly, then 120Volt circuit is fine up to the timer.
Unknown if this is new installation , or old installation that stopped working.
Wiring might be bad, such that line and load wires are reversed.
Or light bulb might be bad.

Sounds like you lost power to the timer. Look in your electric panel for a tripped breaker. Turn it OFF then back ON.

Replace the start/run capacitor. What you are doing by hand is very dangerous.

Your booster, what shut it off in the past? Does this work through a independent relay that is powered by the pool pump circuit?

We had a power cut yesterday and today my neff electric oven just shut down completely. The clock has also stopped working.

if you have power to oven but the clock is not working it sounds like overvoltage has damaged the clock if clock will reset and you can set the time oven will work.

The oil pressure sender is a good idea.It sounds like you know what your talking about have you tried spraying a little starting fluid in the throttle body to see if it will start?do you have an injection pulse tester you will need one.if you have no injector pulse but of have spark suspect a bad quad driver in the computer.or possible oil sending unit but this usally just shuts down the pump.Good luck let me know.

Cant get motor to work

If it's a 120 volt circuit and timer, it sounds like you lost your neutral connection. If it's a 240 volt circuit/timer. it sounds like you lost one leg. Measure the incoming circuit voltage to the timer that's not working_wire_ to _wire_.
Also, go to your main circuit breaker panel and turn the breaker for that circuit OFF then back ON. The pump may have just tripped the breaker. Sometimes breakers can look look they are ok, but they have actually tripped. It's possible that the pump is bad and it's tripping the breaker. Are you able use the manual switch to get the pump to work? ( the one that stopped running last week.)
