Question about Honda Electrical Supplies

When operating unit it will not, increase RPM. When a larger draw equipment like a Skill saw is used ! I have to manualy turn up the RPM ?

Check the Governor spring the arm that's behind the linkage under the carb if it is broken it will not kick up under a load if it is ok wile the engine is running see if you can move that are a excessive movement should not happen and the issue can be internal and need servicing. hope this helps

Saw starts runs good then when i start cutting it

Hi Jason:
Make and model might help but here's two ideas:
1) Remove muffler and clean it. They can get plugged up with carbon and the saw will run at low RPM but will quit because of excess back pressure when you try to rev it up.
2) Set the high and low speed carb settings. Start the saw then gradually increase engine speed until full throttle. Screw the hi-speed needle in slowly. If RPM immediately drops, back it out until Rpm increases, then starts to drop. Screw back in until peak rpm reached, then starts to drop. Back out to peak, then 1/3 turn more.
Set low speed so engine runs smoothly but chain does not turn.

Hi Christi:
This is a "standard approach" that i've used for various small engines for a long time. It may not be factory specs, but it's worked for me.
- First, gently turn both screws in (clockwise) until they just touch the seat. BE GENTLE as you don't want to damage the needle or seat.
- Second, back out both screws 2 turns. This is a "guess" start point.
- Third, start using normal procedure.
- Once the choke can be opened, with the saw at an idle, adjust the slow speed screw until the saw runs at its slowest smooth idle.
- Finally, increase the engine speed and adjust the high speed screw.
Try turning it clockwise.
- If RPM increases, continue until it starts to decrease, then back off 1/4 to 1/2 turn.
- If RPM dropped or engine stalled, back off 1/2 turn and try again.

CSP4518 model. There is way too much oil coming onto the saw and bar in use and I can't find anything in the users manual. Any tips?

check that the jet where the oil comes onto the bar/chain has not being plucked out during operation
use chain bar oil , not engine oil

Hi , have just acquired a 6yr old LG GR-332SF fridge , has a major power issue . Trips circuit breaker when turned on . Looks ok , checked wiring , though removed defrost timer and saw faint blackening on...

Most likely the compressor is drawing excessive load current. It is about the only part inside the unit that can do so. Of course, you may have some shorted wiring inside somewhere. An electrical diagnosis would reveal the cause quickly. Find someone who can use a multimeter with skill.

How do i bring my idle rpm down on my 2002 cam 88

Ensure that the engine is warmed up to normal operating temperature and the enrichener knob is pushed all the way in BEFORE adjusting engine idle speed. It is possible for a properly warmed up engine to idle above the normal idle range of 950-1050 RPM with the enrichener knob pulled PARTIALLY OUT. If the bike has no tachometer attach one or attach a DIGITAL MULTIMETER equipped with an RPM INDUCTIVE PICKUP over front spark plug cable to monitor engine RPM. Then start the motorcycle engine and let it run until it reaches normal operating temperature with enrichener knob pushed fully in (enrichener closed). Then set the idle speed to 950-1050 RPM using a special CARBURETOR IDLE ADJUSTER and tip. Turn clockwise to increase idle speed and turn counterclockwise to decrease idle speed. The throttle stop screw in on the right or front side of the CV carb.

Where do I adjust the rpm on my 1991 dodge caravan?

you can not manualy set the rpm on your dodge caravan, it is set by your computer and your idle air control valve, if you are having problems with your idle being to high or low you may need to replace your idle air control valve, go to your local auto zone or auto parts store and get a new one, they are pretty easy to replace,just a couple of screws and a electric connection plug, the auto store should be able to give you the location of the part on your vehicle of where it is located.

Hard to start, when i get it started it fine shut it off try to start it hard to start

General advice aplicable for all gas powered chain saws;
Clean air filter regularly.
-Adjust spark plug gap (very important). A faulty gap will either cause poor spark or a overloaded and damaged spark plug coil.
-Use correct good quality spark plug
-Use correct oil/fuel mix ratio and correct oil.
-Do not use old premixed fuel if you can avoid it.

Carburator adjustment;
-idle speed setting screw should be set so that the saw idles well, without engaging the chain. If you normally have to press the gas lever to be able to start it coul indicate a to low seting. Clockwise will increase idle speed. This screw is found near the carburator and is slightly larger the the two adjusment screws.
- fuel-air mixture screws can be set to standard factory setting as a start. Normally there are 2 screws labeled L and H, for Hi and Low rpm band adjustments. Factory setting are usually 3/4 turn out(anti clockwise) from fully closed setting for both (clockwise to closed position).
Experiment with adjustments by 1/8 increments at the time. Anti clockwise turning will increase fuel to air ratio and opposite. Warm weather will require a slightly leaner mix and cold weather will reqire a slightly richer mix(more fuel). Low rpm setting only serves the idling performance. The Hi rpm setting can be evaluated by removing the spark imediately after running at full load for a period. The spark plug should be dry, and be lightly brownish at the electrodes. White-ish color indicates low fuel to air mix, and this causes too high combustion temperature. A black colour indicates a too high fuel to air mix ratio, and it causes carbon build up on the plug.

If you still have starting problems, cylinder/piston compression is the next to check for. This is a more extensive job and should best be left to professionals, unless you are very skilled and have access to special tools required. Compression on modern saws are very delicately balance, so the slightest damage to either the rings, piston or cylinder can cause problems. Is is not alwas worth to replace the cylinder and piston kit, so compare prices and ask for advice at your dealer.

If this is a belt driven saw, maybe the pulleys on the motor and arbor are reversed? If both pulleys have the same size hole and the one on the motor is larger than the one on the saw arbor, then you should switch them. This will lower the RPM and increase torque.
If this is a direct drive saw (the motor shaft is the saw arbor) then the only recourse is to use a smaller blade.

We have a onga pump model 445 that we use to draw water from a concrete tank in the ground for our drinking water in the house on our dad has problems adjusting the pressure to it and also trying...

The pump is equipped with a pressure switch.It is a rectangular thing on the discharge side of the pump. If you open its cover, you will see 2 springs with turning bolt on top. The larger spring controls the operating pressure (pressure where you want the pump to stop), and the other one is for the pressure differential (the difference between the pressure you want to stop and the pressure you want to make the pump run again). Usually, the springs are graduated. just turn the adjusting screws to the desired operating pressure and desired differential. For example you want to stop your pump at 40 psi and run it again at 30 psi. Adjust the larger spring to 40 and the smaller one to 10.

Loss of power steering

If memory serves me correctly... the 05 deville is equipped with "Magnasteer" the electical connector at the rack and pinion is not a pressure sensor unless its on the line itself. The system operates by inducing voltage to magnets in the rack to make turning easier at lw speeds while adding resistance at higher speeds for added control and less drift. Check for any codes on your climate control by pushing "off and warmer" at the same time with the engine off, key on. Google the codes and see if any relate to the steering system and repost!
