Grab the remote for your vsx1018 and press receiver at the bottom of the remote then press the number zero button (this button acts as the channel level function when remote is in receiver mode) you will then notice that if you repeatedly press the zero button that it will cycle through each channel on the vsx1018 display (L for front left, C for center, R for front right, SR for side right, SBR for sarround back right, SBL for sarround back left, SL for side left, and last but not least SW for subwoofer rca jack output to your sub amp. After you have selected the speaker volume you want change ( SBR and SBL in your case) then push the left or right of the circle that sarrounds the enter button on the remote in order the fine tune the volume for each speaker, and after you are finished setting the volume the way you want then push the return button that is to the lower right of the circle that sarrounds the enter button on the remote. Cool huh!! :-) Oh ya, somthing else that is cool about the vsx1018, you can put music from your computer onto a thumb drive and then plug the thumb drive in the the ipod usb and the music will play!! IE press ipod button on remote and then use the circle to change music tracks.

It`s showing overload

There are a number of causes....but most of the time something in he speaker section is shorted. Turn off the stereo...Remove all connected speakers from the back...turn it back on. Is the error message still there? If so its internal...if not turn off again and attach one speaker at a time, turning the stereo off to add each speaker. until error. You could have a shorted speaker or wire or too many speakers.

Front Speakers stopped working

turn on your video and start something playing, press the speakers button repeatedly until the sound comes back. this should bring back your front speakers, if it doesn't, double check your speaker connections and sound field program.

the speakers button should cycle through all available front speaker options.

Where do I pug the speakers in ? I need a Picture,Show me the picture.

    • 1 Remove the Dell A215 speakers from the box. Place the speakers in your computer area. The speaker with the volume knob is the right speaker and should sit to the right of your keyboard. Place the other speaker to the left of your keyboard.
    • 2 Plug the left speaker into the right speaker. The left unit has an orange-brown plug that connects to a similarly colored port on the back of the right unit. The other end of the cord is fixed to the rear of the left speaker.
    • 3 Insert the two-prong end of the power adapter into an electrical outlet. Plug the other end into the black power port on the back of the right speaker.
    • 4 Insert the main audio cable into your computer. This cable is fixed to the back of the right speaker and has a green head. Plug the green connector to the green audio-out port on your computer. This port may be on the front or back of desktops or on either side of a laptop.
    • 5 Turn the knob on the right speaker clockwise to turn the speakers on and increase the volume. Turn it counterclockwise to lower the volume partially or all the way to turn the speakers off. The speakers should work automatically on any computer with a sound card.
Let me know if this solved the problem and good luck..

HELLO: KENWOOD MARINE STEREO WHEN TURNING UP THE VOLUME ABOUT HALF WAY THE RADIO CUTTS OUT TILL YOU TURN IT BACK DOWN THEN IT COMES BACK ON.

You have a grounded out speaker wire or blown speaker. Disconnect speaker wires at the unit. Make sure the wires are not touching, turn the unit on, then turn the volume back up. If it stays on, it is a wire or speaker. Re-connect one speaker at a time and test. once you find the bad wire/speaker, disconnect the wire at the speaker and test again. This will determine if it's the speaker or wire.

If after disconnecting the speaker wires it still cuts out, check your ground and meter the DC voltage at the power wire. If you do not have enough current at the radio, it will shut off as well. Usually this will happen at about 9.8v dc.

If you still need further help, post a reply/comment and I can help you dig further.

Dell speaker connection color code needed

  • *Turn off your Dell laptop.

*Connect speakers to the speaker control box. The speaker control box varies depending on the speaker system you have. Two-speaker systems will have a female jack on the back of one speaker that you plug the other into the second speaker. If your system has a sub-woofer, all of the other speakers will plug into it. The connecting cords are color-coded to the jacks on the back of the control box.

*Plug an audio cable into the "Audio-In" port on the back of the control box. If the audio cable is color-coded, it will be green.

*Plug the other end of the audio cable into the headphone jack on your laptop.

*Plug the speakers' power cord into a surge protector to protect your system from power surges. *Plug the surge protector into a wall outlet.

*Turn on your speakers and set the volume at a medium level. Be prepared to turn the volume up or down after you turn your laptop on.

*Turn on your laptop and confirm that sound is coming from your speakers.

    Thanks for rating

    Good luck

I turn it on and it says protect then it turns off

Disconnect the speakers and turn it back on. If it still says "protect" it needs serviced. If not, turn it off and re connect one speaker at a time and turn on. If it goes back into protect, you need to check the speakers themselves for an internal short or a blown voice coil. If you have a multimeter, check the impedance on the speakers or the resistance on the speakers. If the meter reads 1...... the speaker is more than likely bad. If you need further help, post a comment and I can help you further.

    Error code - protector

Try disconnecting all the speakers from the back and turn the unit back on. If the "protector" display goes away, turn the unit back off and reconnect one speaker. Turn it back on and check for "protector". Repeat.

If you find that one of the speakers causes "protector" to appear, you either have a bad speaker cable or bad speaker. Try swapping each of those out to see what happens.

    Speaker setup

This is a hard problem when one is not looking at the speaker. But let me give you a little help if I can.

Try pluging the subwoofer into the speaker port of the Pc
Make sure your pc is turn of.
    2) I believe the subwoofer has four jacks at the back.
    3) Plug each of the speaker into the jack that says speaker
4)Now, if you are confuse of the in and out, on the subwoofer I understand. I believe you should be from out of the subwoofer to the in of the speaker. again, I cannot see at the back of you subwoofer.Only speaker from exprience.when you are done, turn your pc back on and turn the speaker on. making sure the volum is turn low.

    good luck

My back speakers wont produce any sound

OK I believe there is a small indented "Reset Button" around somewhere on the back of the unit, With the unit powered ON, & using a small diameter implement, straightened paper clip etc, press IN the button and this should "Reset" ya unit. This may indeed fix all your problems as the Unit "Reads" the speakers at turn on.
