How do I remove the plug from a mossberg model 9200

The solution was perfect. I bought the gun used and it did not have an owners manual. I would never have figured it out myself thank you so very much. Well worth the $12.00.

TO REMOVE THE PLUG - Unscrew and remove the forend cap. Grasp the barrel and forend to prevent them from sliding forward. Point the muzzle downward and shake the gun in an up and down motion until the wooden dowel falls through the opening in the muzzle end of the magazine tube. The dowel is fitted with a rubber "O" Ring to prevent it from falling out accidentally. Grasp the dowel and pull it out completely. TO INSTALL THE PLUG - Unscrew and remove the forend cap. Insert the end of the dowel with the "O" Ring into the opening in the end of the magazine tube. Push dowel into magazine tube. Replace forend cap. How doI disassemble a Mossberg 9200 semi-auto to clean it?

I wouldn't take it apart per-say. use some gun scrubber or brake cleaner. Be careful with the stock and take it off if the solvent would damage the finish.

HOW DO YOU DISASSEMBLE A MOSSBERG 20 GAUGE BANTUM

Same as all Model 500's. Bolt halfway open, remove barrel, remove trigger group pin, trigger group, both shell stops, bolt carrier, bolt, lifter. Reverse to reassemble. Seriously, head to youtube and watch a video. You can go step by step with the video. The only key spot you need to watch out for is the bolt/bolt carrier when you take it apart and put it back together. The carrier will just ever so slightly clear the front of the inner rail on the receiver....and when you out it back together, put the bolt into that spot, put the forearm back on so the action bars are down next to the bolt, and then drop the bolt carrier back in to link the bolt and action bars back together. Once the cvarrier is in that perfect spot, it'll drop right into the slots. Just slide it a hair forward so the rails slightly block it in and then do the stops. Next key spot....and this is one a lot of folks mess up so don't feel bad. You aren't alone. The pins in the trigger group have to be centered all the way to get the trigger group in right. Use your fingers to center them on both sides, slip the front edges into the trigger group hole to catch the two front tabs, and then GENTLY lower the group in and pin it. DO NOT FORCE IT IN!!! Those tabs break.

Mossberg.com will get you set up. But you won't really need one. Just hit youtube and watch some videos on the Mossberg 500. Yours is a .410 caliber model 500. Nice gun. Congrats!

What is the difference between a Mossberg 500 and a Mossberg 535 max 4.

The 535 is simply a slightly stretched model 500. It can chamber and fire 3.5" shells where the 500 will only handle up to 3" shells. The guns are identical in function and pretty much identical in parts except the stretched bits.
