Camera displays message: "Card cannot create file," and will not view or take pics when there are pics on the card. The computer reads the pics just fine, but my camera will not let me do anything.

The cards are usually pretty reliable but they do get corrupted from time to time. Usually caused by a bad shut down ie low battery going poof.

You can usually correct this by formatting the card either in the camera or in a pc card reader. You may have to try doing it in both before it works.

This should do it for you: Insert the SD card into your laptop or computer. In the SD card go to "New Folder" name that folder "DCIM" in the "DCIM" folder create a new folder. This one you will name "101KC190" (I'm pretty sure you have the Kodak Easyshare 190, correct?) Now, transfer all of your pictures into "101KC190." Insert the SD into your camera and it should work. email me if you need to [email protected]

Sounds like you forgot to use the "safely remove hardware" function before disconnecting the card reader. Try to download the pics to your computer using the card reader again. When they're safely downloaded, format the card in your camera to get it working properly again. In the future, follow the correct procedures.

Once the pictures have gone from the camera to the computer a different code or tag is used so the computer programing can read it it's a one way ticket from the camera to the computer hard drive but not back. Once the file is opened altered (by deleting images) the camera firmware can not read the file.

This is because camera will show these pictures with specific file name/ number.  You need to check camera taken picture file name/ number and change uploaded file name/ numbers as camera firmware generate it.  Please change picture file name according to camera taken picture.

File errors

http://www.samsungcamera.com/popup/download.asp?prj_uid=741&prol_uid=4153
Download the english manual version pdf file and open with adobe reader go to page 84.
When you upload a file that is not taken by this camera to the removable disk, the [File Error!] message will be displayed on the LCD monitor in the play mode, and nothing is displayed in the THUMBNAIL mode.

Make sure that the memory card is formated in the camera not the memory card reader on the computer. Make sure you save your edited files in jpeg file format. Avi for movies. The manual makes it sound like the camera will not read altered files or files not taken by the camera itself. edited files are not files taken by the camera. Good luck I hope this helps.

I have a folder of photos on my camera which I can see on the computer but I cannot see on the camera when I go on the Quick View. How can I see the folder of photos on my camera?

did you put the folder onto the camera using a PC ?
Most cameras make their own file structure, and so you cannot view any added folders. You would have to put the picutres into the folders created by the camera -  usually Card\DCIM\100_1  or similar.
Dont create folders on your card, always put the files into the correct folder.
