First we need to make sure it is not the signal cable or the PC's Video card problem, you need to try it on another PC, we do not want to take the monitor apart unless we have to.
This model has problem with DC filter caps as shown in my picture here which you may want to check them out in the futre also.

I'm having the same problem with the same monitor. If I unplug it from the power source wait 5 minutes, plut it back in, the screen comes up. If I shut the monitor off, then turn it back on later, it flickers and turns black. It does the same on my other computer. When it is plug in and turn it on, it says No Signal, Check Signal Cable. It has done this since I bought it, but always turns on. Help.

Princeton vl 1918 monitor on screen it says check cable no signal. how do you obtain signal?

You need to verify to find out if it is the monitor is bad or the PC is not sending the video signal to the monitor. Try another monitor with the PC, if you still have the problem then you need to fix the PC, if it works OK then it is the monitor problem.

"no signal"

"no signal" means that the monitor is not receiving a video signal from your computer or laptop. This is normal if the compouter is OFF and the monitor is ON. Is the computer still on and connected to the monitor?

1. Take this Monitor and attach it to another working computer to see if it works

The monitor shuts off. Turning the power off

the monitor is going into power saving mode ... it can happen if it is not receiving any signal from the pc ( pc is not running or booted properly, bad video cable connection monitor to pc) or the pc is itself in suspend/standby mode.

Princeton Monitor is "out of range"

Hi,
The monitor is not getting a video signal. This is probably an issue with your computer. It could be a memory, hard drive or motherboard issue.

Make sure you are getting power to the pc (fans running, hard drive spinning...etc). Then check your memory. Try switching memory slots, or try different memory.

Turn on computer and see if you hear any bios beeps.

Try a different hard drive if you have one.

Good luck,
Hank
