Check the info from this website on how to remove shorts from CRTs. This is not a DIY for sure.
The CRT you can remove it yourself, just be very careful when removing the high voltage wire that is connected from the HV trippler to the CRT anode. The CRT anode cable stays with the CRT.
Good Luck.

The Blue CRT ( Picture Tube ) has a short. You may be able to do a temp fix by turning down the Blue CRT drive level ( Located behind the front speaker grille )untill the lines disappear. But its only a temp fix. The Blue CRT will most likely need replacement.

Screen turns blue after 5 minutes of operation

Hello, the blue color if excessive in intensity is due to a probable HV block, intermittent blue amp. or an intermittent K to A internal short in the blue CRT. either one of these circuits will require diagnostics done by an electronics tech. Repair cost of either one of this problem will run over 390 dlls, a lot more if the problem turns out to be a defective CRT. Hope this helped.

Flashes blue and then the tv shuts down

The tech is correct about the internal short inside the blue CRT. There is a way to remove that short by applying a small amount of current to burn the short but that might damage the CRT even more. At this point the CRT needs to be replace.
I will post the instructions on how to remove that short but you will need to have a good regulated power supply and limit the amount of current to 1 to 2 amps.

Speaker panel

The panel just pulls forward to expose the inner CRT cover. If youy have the faint blue lines that appear especially when there is an absence of video on the screen, the adjusting of the blue CRT control is a VERY temporary fix. It indicates the blue CRT is shorting out internally and that the red and green might not be too far behind. The bad news is 2 of the 3 CRT's are no longer available.

Big screen troubles....

It is either going to be a shorted blue CRT (picture tube) or a driver board for it. I suspect the CRT itself.
