My DSC-W50 Sony Cyber-shot camera will NOT power on. I've checked the batteries and they are charged. It was working one day and nothing the next. No power at all. What to do?

When I zoomed in to take a picture, the zoom button was acting up. It told me to turn off the camera and then turn it back on. When I turned it on, the camera kept on zooming in and out. What should I Do?

My Sony DSC-W50 Lens is stuck in the open position, and repeatedly displays "Turn the Power on and off again". Upon turning the camera off the lens does not return and close, and when turning it on the LCD displays " Access ", then repeats the same message to turn it off. Whatever help can be provided is greatly appreciated!

When the camera stops like that, it is hard to tell what is wrong. It can be an internal problem which has to do with the electronics or connections. A repair or selling it as a as is or parts camera on a site like Ebay.

Lenses being stuck, may be helped by pulling on the lens or pushing in... if it is tilted slightly to one side, you may be able to fix it by pushing gently as it is started to the opposite side.

Zooming problems are definitely to do with the lens. Dirt or sand in the gears, or at some time it could have been damaged from an impact.

A digital camera not powering on can be the result of many internal problems. Loose connections internally, corrosion form liquid or water can damage the internal electronics.

All of these problems may not be able to be fixed for less than the camera is worth. Selling it at a site such as Ebay for.. as is, parts, or repair, may be better than tossing it.

Nikon s9300 - When I turn it on, the lense fully extends, but the screen stays black. I have to pop the battery out, then put back in for the lense to retract. Battery is fully charged and even tried

When the battery is fully charged, please put it in again. That means, if it is still in, remove it once again.
Switch it on, and even if you don't see a thing try to make a picture.
Then press the display button several times, to see if anything comes on the screen again.
If the camera does not respond after that, you should go back to the dealer, of contact Nikon.

Hi, I have the Olympus Tough 3000 and I notice that the low battery sign comes on all the time even after i charge it all night. Do you know if this happens often to other olympus camera. Thanks

This should have little to do with the brand of the camera. It sounds more like a defective battery or charger, especially since this is a relatively new model.
Are you using the battery that came with it or a 3rd party battery? If you're using the battery that came with it and it is immediately dying even after a full night charge, you may be able to get it replaced under warranty (your camera has a 12 month warranty).

Even with fully charged batteries, the camera won't turn on. what can i do?

Try this:
- remove the batteries
- wait more than 60 seconds
- reinstall (fresh/charged) batteries

Mine was exhibiting the same problem ... it would start to power on, but died as soon as the lens began any motion at all. It would power up fine on AC power, or on the dock. I was going to install new firmware on the camera to try to fix the problem. Reading the firmware installation instructions indicated that, to complete the firmware upgrade, the batteries would need to be removed for at least 60 seconds, which I'm guessing forces the camera into some sort of deeper reboot/restart.

Battery keeps dying

Most likely the charging circuitry has failed. When you fully charge the new battery what does the battery meter read on the camera? Your two options no matter what the case are repair vs. replacement. If you need further assistance let me know.

Battery will not hold a charge.

Casio says:

Red blinking light = defective battery

No flashing light = possible defective charger.

What you can do is send all your stuff into casio and they will test everything for you and see what they could replace for you.
