There are a couple of common things that go wrong with a flash. While the bulb usually is good for years, the flash capacitor and small step-up-transformer are the components that usually fail. It's also possible that you have the flash turned off in your options, so make sure you check that, I read that the information is on page 7 of your manual.
Some others on the net have reported this same problem, and most of them returned the unit for a new one, which might be the best thing for you to do, in case it's still under warranty. Never hurts to check, anyway.
Good luck, hope this helps, and thanks for using FixYa.

To get the memory card to work, you must first erase the internal memory. Here's how...with no card in the camera, go into the menu and find "format"...follow the on-screen instructions. After that, your new card should work properly.

Easyshare C182 12MP Digital Camera: how do i upload pictures from my kodak easyshare C...

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.
