Did you call Comcast and give them the new MAC address of the Motorola SB5101 SURFboard cable modem? I'm surpised it works at all without doing this first. This is the hardware address of your modem so the world can see you, no one in the world has the same MAC address, they are all different. It's on a sticker on the modem.

To open a port, you first need to know what port you need to open. Once you know this you need to access you router properties. Open your browser and go to http://192.168.1.1/ (BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN GOING THERE! You can brick your router!). when it asks for username and password, type it in if you know it, if not check your manuel or http://www.routerpasswords.com/ to find the default login. Once your in there, find something that mentions about ports, for instance, I have a Lynksys router and my port forwarding is under Applications and Gaming>Port Range Forward. When you find the correct page, type in the port number, save it, and there you go! If it mentions about TCP/UDP open one at a time, test it, then close the unused one to prevent a hacker highway into your computer and/or network. To test if your port is open without waiting forever for your torrent or utorrent to say that its still closed, use this free lightweight port checker that I use. http://portforward.com/help/portcheck.htm
Hope this helps,

Tips for a great answer:
Mar 15, 2012 | NetGear N150 / RANGEMAX 150 Router
Click the Security link near the top of the page.
Click the Applications & Gaming link near the top of the page.
You should now see a new menu. In this new menu, click Port Range Forward.
Enter the name of the program into the Application box. It doesn't really matter what you put into this box, but something that will remind you why these ports are being forwarded would be a good idea.
If you are forwarding a single port, enter that port number into the Start and the End boxes. If you are forwarding a range of ports, enter the lowest number of that range into the Start box. Then enter the highest number of that range into the Endbox.
Use the Protocol drop down box to select the protocol type of the ports you are forwarding.
Enter the ip address to forward these ports to into the IP Address box. If you are forwarding ports so you can run a program on your computer, you should enter your computer's ip address into that box.
Put a checkmark in the Enable checkbox.
When you're finished, click Save Settings near the bottom of the screen to save your changes.
And that's it! You're done!
