You must have used the TRANSFRM application before. It remains in memory and takes over the graphing function from the native OS. You must unload it from memory.

  1. Turn calculator ON
  2. Press the [APPS] button.
  3. Scroll Up (faster) or Scroll down till you see :Transfrm in the list of applications.
  4. Highlight that line and press ENTER.
  5. The new screen invites you to Uninstall or Continue
  6. Press the number key that corresponds to the Uninstall option (1:Uninstall)
  7. Return to your [Y=] editor screen to verify that the style lines have changed to the "normal" ones.

What is the definition of the y intercept?

The equation of any straight line, called a linear equation, can be written as: y = mx + b, where m is the slope of the line and b is the y-intercept. The y-intercept of this line is the value of y at the point where the line crosses the y axis.

What is the graph linear equation for y=2*+1

Now is the equation supposed to be y=2x+1? If so,
graph-linear-equation-y-2-1-cds52kcxe0my5labvj2rkild-2-0.gif
The graph of y = 2x+1 is a straight line
When x increases, y increases twice as fast, hence 2x
When x is 0, y is already 1. Hence +1 is also needed
So: y = 2x + 1
Here are some example values:
xy = 2x + 1
-1y = 2 × (-1) + 1 = -1
0y = 2 × 0 + 1 = 1
1y = 2 × 1 + 1 = 3
2y = 2 × 2 + 1 = 5
Check for yourself that those points are part of the line above!

How can i solve tree equations with fx 4500p

Do you mean three (3) linear equations in 3 unknowns, or tree allometric equations? Thank you Al Gore for inventing the Internet.
For the second case, we really need to know the form of the functions in view of their graphical representation:
Since this calculator cannot do graphs, you can generate a table of values and then represent the variation on graphing paper (linear or logarithmique) depending on the form of the dependence.
Here is a link to the user's manual for this calculator.

Minimum point of a plot graph

Two, since only one straight line exists that goes through the same two points.

Alternatively, you could define a straight line with one point and a slope.

Explain what it means for a system of linear equations to have no solutions, one solution, two solutions, and infinite solutions.

  1. No solutions: The system is incoherent, incompatible Example: 2x+3y=8 and 2x+3y= 15. The two lines are parallel and distinct.
  2. One solution: There exits a pair of values (x,y) that satisfy both linear equations. The two lines on a Cartesian graph have one intersection point.
  3. Infinite number of solutions: The two equations are one and the same (one is just multiplied by some constant). The graph of the two lines yields the same line. One is superposed on the other. Any ordered pair (x,y) that satify one equation (there is an infinity of such pairs) satisfies the other.
  4. Two solutions: cannot happen because the two lines can either intersect once, be parallel, or superposed one on the other.

I am trying to graph a least-squares line on my TI-84 Plus. I have the numbers correctly plugged into my Stat Edit tables, and I am able to access my linear equation, and the first time I entered my graph...

After you enter the data draw the SCATTER plot first.
When you perform the (linear) regression analysis LineReg, save the regression equation to a function, for example Y1
The syntax is
LineReg L1, L2, Y1 ENTER

From the Stat>CALC menu press LineReg
The command echoes on command line
Press [2nd][1] to enter the L1 list on command line
Press [,] to separate
Press [2nd] [2] to enter L2 on the command line
Press [,] the comma again
Press [VARS][>][Y-Vars][1~Function][1:Y1] [ENTER]
Press [GRAPH] to have the regression line equation drawn
on the same screen as the Scatter Plot you drew before.

I am entering information from a sample question for drawing a scatterplot and finding the linear regression equation. I have copied the example exactly and keep coming up with the same two problems. 1. I...

You might not see the scatter plot when you go to the graph because the boundaries are not set correctly. With the scatter plot turned on, go to "zoom" and then scroll down to "zoomStat" and hit enter. Try going to the graph again and see if the the scatter plot shows up. As for the the equation being slightly different than the examples, this is probably just the calculator rounding up the answers it gets. Good luck!

My ti-84 is only graphing one linear equation in the y equal when i put two equations in it only show one

The following should help you draw several graphs.
When you enter a function you should press [ENTER] to validate. At the same time, the cursor moves to the next line. Verify that the = sign on the equation already entered is still highlighted.
If for some reason the = sign of an equation is no longer highlighted, use arrow keys to move cursor on the = sign and press [ENTER].

If only one = sign remains highlighted and all others are not, then in all probability the application Transfrm has been executed before and is still lingering in RAM. When in RAM, it takes over the graphing capabilities of the native OS. This prevents you from drawing more than one graph.You must unload it from memory.
  1. Press the [APPS] key.
  2. Scroll down to the line that shows Transfrm.
  3. Highlight it and press [ENTER].
  4. In following screen you are invited to Uninstall or continue.
  5. Press the number to the left of Uninstall. Validate if need be.
  6. Return to the Y= editor to type in functions to graph.

How do u store linreg(ax+b)as y1 on ur graphic calculater

When you press [STAT] and right Arrow to highlight CALC you see two linear regression model [4:LinReg(ax+b)] and [8:LinReg(a +bx)]
If you select [4: ...] the command echoes on main calculator screen as LinReg(ax+b) and a blinking cursor
If you press [ENTER] you will get your equation, a, b, and r^2 if DiagnosticsOn command has been executed before. However you will not be able to see the line of best fit on top of the raw data scatter plot.

To save the equation of best fit in a function variable, ex Y1, you complete the command as follows
LinReg(ax+b) [VARS][=>][Y-VARS][1:Function][1:Y1]
The Y1 variable will appear on main calculator screen, and you have
LinReg(ax+b) Y1
Press [ENTER]
Screen display the equation, its parameter and its correlation coefficients (if so configured).
Press [GRAPH] to draw the line of best fit on top of the scatter plot.

Here are two screen captures to show you the equation and the line of best fit.

As you can see from the value of r^2, and the graph, a linear regression does not seem good.

I am trying to see 2 different tables on my table screen from 2 different equations, but it when i go to the screen, instead of showing 2 different tables, it only shows one of them. I also noticed that...

Hi,
In the Y= equation editor you can enter two functions, and graph them both or calculate a table for both. However, the two functions will be evaluated at the same values of X.

Rather than trying to guess what is happening, I will show you how to get your two tables.

If you have used one the applications Inequalz or Transform it si probably still stuck in memory, and you must unload it from the RAM before recovering the usual calculator behavio(u)r
  1. Press the [APPS] button, find Inequalz or Transform, point to it and click [ENTER].
  2. You will be asked to Continue or Quit the application.
  3. Press the number corresponding to Quit (usually 2).
  4. Press [2nd][Y=] (STAT PLOT). Press [4:PlotsOff][ENTER]
  5. Calculator replies Done.
Open the [Y=] equation editor. Type in your equations. Press [ENTER] at the end of each equation. Verify that the [=] signs after Y1, and Y2 remain highlighted when cursor is moved away from them.
Press [2nd][GRAPH] (Table) to see your 2 tables y1 and y2 calculated at the same X.

Hope it helps.
Thank you for rating the solution.
