    Hi,

could also let me know the model number of your computer. There was update available on Dell's website to solve loud fan noise for certain model of systems .

I would let u know that is applicable to your system.

    Thanks

Can I just replace fan or do I have to replace whole unit as fan stop working

If you buy it from the manufacturer it will be a whole unit. Best idea. If you are electronically proficient you can probably find the fan online cheap.

Sounds like the fan is going out. I would take it back to the store and swap it for a new one. Alternatively, if you decide to keep it you can try to put a drop of 3-in1 oil in the center of the fan to prolong and/or fix the noisy fan.

you need to buy a new fan, your fan is about to give up the ghost. if you let the fan die while the pc is running, it might burn out the cpu.

fans are very cheap, like a few dollars, and do not always last forever.

Dell Inspiron Fan running constantly and very loud. Can I replace with Quieter Fan? If so, what fan model and Who would you suggest have replace it? Or are there other options? This is driving me...

Stock fans tend to be very loud. If this is a laptop your probably SOL on finding a compatible replacement. If this is a desktop then just buy the same dimensions or just by the fan/heat sink combo's of the same size.
From looking up the fan in question I'd say this is a laptop and there isn't much you can do about it

CHIP COOLING FAN FAILED

These fans fail on an alarmingly regular basis.
In the past, if I can't find a fan, I simply remove the fan and leave the housing attached to the chip. It acts like a heat sink. Sometimes I think that the fans are just there to look neat!

You "may" be able to find a small heat sink that will do the job without a fan. That is another thing I have done. By searching your local supplier for just a heat sink, you might have better luck.

The warranty should be handled by Sony. Check your documents, as some brands only offer 90 days, while stores sometimes have their own extensions for longer periods. Best Buy can also advise which one it is.

My toshiba cooling fan is not functioning. the computer automatically shutdown because of overheating. what is the best thing to do?buy a cooling pad or maybe change the fan as well as the heat sink?

Hi,
It is best to change the fan and heatsink. Make sure you clean the processor and apply a very thin coat of thermal compound (arctic silver) to the heat sink if it is not supplied. Newegg.com lists may cooling fans & heatsinks based on your socket configuration

Cpu fan running at high rpms

Are you sure there is enough thermal jel between the new cpu and the fan? If not, fan could not get enough heat and constantly tries harder. That thermal jel creates a better environment for the heat conduction so that fan could do less job and take out more heat at the same time. Hope this will help.
