Question about Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop Pro Keyboard

1 Answer

All of a sudden my Microsoft wireless keyboard and mouse Model 1014 is not being recognized at startup. I am running WinXP and have changed nothing. I get these errors: 0011-09 Date and Time Lost; 0106-54 No mouse detected on mouseport, please wait a few seconds and 0103-AE keyboard error. Since the keyboard is not recognized I can't press F1 to continue and so on. I have tried unplugging and even new batteries in keyboard. Any help would be appreciated

Date and time lost is probably the cmos battery flat. Replace the battery, probably a 2032.

Goo0dness, Had this myself just last week. Fortunately I had the old keyboard and mouse and plugged it in to get access. I deleted the wireless keyboard from device manager. rebooted the machine, quickly changed the mouse and keyboard back to the wireless one and it all came back on. saved me buying a new one. Hope this works for you.

I unhooked the PS/s keyboard from the pc to move the unit. Now I cannot get the winxp to recognize the keyboard. I cannot type anything

Mary-

Is this wireless? If so you probably need to re-sync. If not. check the connections (again) and do a hard boot. (power button on the machine). I know for sure this happens with a ps/2 mouse, not really so much with a keyboard.

Good Luck!
