Question about Samsung Digimax D53 Digital Camera

Same problem "Hello pros I need help. The lens on my digimax cyber 530 will not close(retract) completely when I turn off the camera. When I turn it on it gives a 'whirr ing' sound and then auto shuts off. Out of desperation I have manually 'pulled' out the lens. it stays that way until i turn it off and it retracts only halfway. Can anyone help this senior? thank you kindly" I have the exact same problem with this person. And the solution you gave is not that useful, since I'd have to pull and push the lens whenever I turn it on/off. and it's not convenient,is there any other way to solve it? so it can go normal again, the lens can automatically in and out?? thanks

The problem, it seems, is internal. Without the knowledge of the innards of a digital camera there isn't much you can do. You could return it to the company if it is under warranty. Or you could take it to a repair shop and pay almost as much as it would cost for a new digital camera.

I turn camera on. Lens comes out. beep 3 times. turns off.

Everytime I try to turn it on, the lens comes out for about a second, the camera beeps 3 times, the lens retracts and the camera shuts off. The battery is completely charged and the camera is only 4 months old. HELPP :(

While turning in off softely press the lense in and out a couple of times. The lense would retract. If not fully, but most of the way, push the lense a little harder in until completely retract. If you turn it on, I should work fine. The reason the lense does not retract is most likely some dust in there somewhere. If it did not help, you would have to open the lense and clean it and close the lense.

I hope it helps,

Camera beeps loud 3 times and shuts right off!!

sounds like a lens error, does the lens extend or retract? You probably have to get the lens back on track, use gentle pressure wiht the camera face down on a towel covered table and turn on to see if the camera tries to retract the lens. I really dislike these types of cameras that extend the lens everytime, if it turns on in your pocket, your doomed!

Digimax 430 camera won't turn on

If your lens is open and the camera turns off after those dreaded beeps, I have a fix for your problem. Basically, for this model of camera, the lens first pushes out a bit and then it retracts into the camera. Well, my lens got stuck on the pushout and it prevented the camera from turning on. I used some finger pressure and wiggled the lens a bit. Then I turned it on and it retracted to where is was supposed to be to take pictures. Then I turned it off and it retracted into the camera. Problem solved!

Cybershot camera lens cover closed

Follow the steps below to troubleshoot if the lens will not open, retract, or extend. WARNING: There is a risk of hardware damage. Do not attempt to manually force the lens in or out. Doing so may damage the camera. NOTE: Because each of these steps represents a possible solution to this issue, check the camera status after completing each step. Ensure the battery is adequately charged or connect the AC power adapter (if applicable). Perform a power reset. If the camera lens is still not operating correctly after completing the troubleshooting steps suggested, service will be required. Hope this helps
