i have the seme problem "recovery mode" whet i need to do?

  • Anonymous Jun 03, 2008

My creative zen has the firmware problem recently. Out of sudden, it says firmware problem.. the songs could not be played and can do nothing, just with the sreen saying that firmware problem and i tried restarting the player, but it doesn't work. Den i decided to download the firmware program from the creative website into my player. Well, it sort of work, as in the player can play songs now. After download the firmware into my player, sometimes when i on the player, nothing will be shown on the screen and i need to reset it. Moreover, when i connect the player to my laptop, a auto play will come out, i click on open the files, it did not open and i had to transfer the songs to the player through zen media explorer. Does anyone has any solutions so that my player could return to its normal state?

I agree, use the Reload Firmware tool on recovery mode and then upgrade the firmware from the website. If you get "firmware failed!", then try it from a different computer.

You should reload the firmware when the ZEN is in recovery mode. Try downloading the MP3 Player Recovery Tool.

First off, download the Firmware upgrade from Creative (http://support.creative.com/downloads/welcome.aspx?nDriverType=4#type_4)

Don't run it just yet!

Now, go into the Zen Micro's Recovery Mode:

1. Take out the battery
2. Press and hold the ON/LOCK button in the ON position (far left) and put the battery back in the player.
3. The player will then switch on - wait until "Recovery Mode" appears on the screen then let go of the ON/LOCK button.

The Recovery Mode options include an option to "Reload Firmware".

Now connect your Zen Micro to your PC and run the Firmware upgrade. Your player should be recognized by the Firmware uploader. If it isn't, then then your player has other damage.

Stuck in recovery mode

Hi,
Sounds like the actual firmware is corrupted. You might try loading the firmware on the Recovery Mode by using the firmware upgrade available at Creative's website.

Hope this helps

Getting out of recovery mode

The recovery tool mentioned above is not designed for the sleek photo. You need to download the firmware for the sleek photo from creative's site. Now we need to get your player recognized to get the firmware loaded. If you have Windows Media Player 11, it needs to be removed. Also remove WMP runtime. After that, restart the pc and your player should be recognized. You can then double click on the firmware program to run it. It might say something like, this firmaware is already installed...do you want to reload it? Click yes to reload.

I had the same problem with my sleek photo. Once I got rid of WMP and the runtime everything worked like a charm.

Creative Zen Touch stuck in "recovery mode"

Hello,

Have you tried to load the firmware? First you'll need to download the firmware to your PC from Creative's website: Click here. After you've downloaded it, connect your Zen via USB to your PC and open the firmware icon, then click "Upgrade."

Creative Zen MicroPhoto 8GB, in recovery mode, the device is not connected

Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.
